  1. Cracking build and finish. Colour scheme is great and very well weathered - not over-done....I like it........a lot! Glad you stuck with it and I'm sure you're over the moon with the result.
  2. Nice one Robin you should be able to pick up plenty hints and tips regarding painting and finishing on this forum. Keep it up!
  3. Can't wait to see this develope especially with the tractor unit you plan to link it up to.
  4. Hi Tim, good luck with the build. I did this kit when it first came out and also did the milliput zimmerit, my first attempt at "zim" and it came out very well. The tracks are a ball-acher but turn out quite presentable.
  5. Erwin, take a leaf from Frank Sinatra and do it your way and if you're happy with the result who are we to ell you other wise. You have set yourself a fine task for the year and I also look forward to the WIP thread developing. Best of luck mate
  6. I hope Airfix do some more 1/76 subjects of the same quality and I may be temped to dabble once again.
  7. Thanks again guys for your kind comments. I don't usually base up my subjects with so much detail but really enjoyed the whole experience.
  8. Nice work Roman, just proves that a grey tank doesn't have to be be............. just grey - well done!
  9. Thanks again guys for your kind words - small can be beautiful.
  10. Cheers guys, this won't be the last Emhar kit I will be having a go at - I think the WW1 subjects will be quite popular this year and I quite fancy the Tadpole - now that is BIG!
  11. I grabbed this kit at the Scottish National Show last year as a "something different" subject and when I looked in the box, I was horrified to see the quality and thickness of the plastic. When bit the bullet towards the end of 2013 I was really suprised how well this kit fell together but was worried about the tracks. I thought I would give them a go rather than spent twice what I had paid for the kit on metal tracks. Although not totally authentic, again they fit quite well and glued no problem with my favored MEK. Rather than a plain base I chose to carve up a piece of Kingspan and glue it to a base and have a little fun. The black needs touching in around the edge of the foam before this gets an outing this year, but should be on display at our first visit to a show in 2014 at Huddersfield, where the club will be displaying again. I hope you enjoy the result. Thanks again for looking. Brian
  12. I needed something smaller to do, fast and straight from the box after spending months scratchbuilding my 1/16 SU-85 and Airfix had just brought out the newly tooled Cromwell - so I thought "that's smaller". Really enjoyed building this little gem in about 3 hours before paint and the fit was first class for Airfix! Hope you like it - the driver is from Milicast. Cheers Guys Brian
  13. Hi Tony, I think we agreed on the 9th at the last meeting - I'm ready to go, really missed it (sad I know)
  14. Stonking again Tony, Good to have you "back". See you Thursday!
  15. Nice one Keith, good to see you posting some of your work.
  16. Good stuff in little bundles - well done!
  17. Really nice job! I have just finished the 1/35 Emhar Whippet and was very pleased with the finish - will post some shots of the based-up vehicle soon.
  18. A beautifully finished model which shows what can be done OOTB and once again, very well shot! Cheers Brian
  19. Stunning finish and superbly shot. A brilliant job all round!
  20. Thanks for the kind words guys. I chose this vehicle because of the donor I had and slab sides, so I thought it would be relatively "easy". I could have used the side skirts on the donor vehicle but they appeared too thick for the scale and chose to "fix" them. If I hadn't hit a wall part of the way through, all told there would probably be 3-4 months work on and off. From inception to completion it actually took me 18 months. At shows it sits nicely beside my Trumpeter T34-76 displaying it's full interior and I am quite pleased with the end result. I'm looking forward to the SU-100 coming out and then maybe I can turn my other donor vehicle into a 122 or the engineering vehicle I have information on. Thanks again Brian
  21. Thats a great job PAL, and a great little kit that still stands up. I have one waiting on the shelf and it's a possibility for a future 1/16 scratch build subject. I have one donor vehicle left to butcher but in two minds whether to do the SU-122 or the WZT-SU engineering vehicle. A Russian equivalent to a Bergpanther. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work!
  22. Hi Tony, I agree with Steve, leave the crazing alone, it looks authentic. A really nice build with a great finish.
  23. Guys, as promised here are some shots of my completed scratch built SU-85. The first few pictures were shot with the flash and the last ones without. The final few show the 1/35 scale Tamiya kit that I took dimensions from along side the "mothership". Thanks for looking
