  9. Lovely job - I have this kit well on it's way. You've given me the urge to complete it - great job
  10. Lovely job Jack - superbly finished. It looks fantastic on the first shot with the background in.
  11. Don't get too hung up on every historical detail being correct. The most important issue is you enjoyed building and painting the kit. Clearly a lot of other people love your model for what it is and how well it is finished, especially brush painted and I am one of them. Please keep sharing and keep up the great work
  12. Thanks for the kind words gents. Hey Raystorm, if you can pick one up as I did at a show for £14 "Modelsforsale" (quick pimp) - fill your boots, a great little kit almost for nowt!...........go for it! Brian
  13. Hi mate, I have been tempted to dirty one of these cars up but after the time taken to get a half decent gloss sheen, it seems a shame to cover it up. It's a bit like covering a kit with etch brass then painting over I suppose - but at least you know it's there. Thanks for the comments. Brian
  14. Personally I would still run a pin wash through it, not to indicate weathering so much as to bring out all of that stunning detail - your decision SIr!
  15. Here is my inspration for buying this and two other Beetle kits along with Revell's stunning 1/16 Karmann Ghia - she's my son's everyday runner from 1976, Elizabeth: Cheers Brian
  16. OK guys the next set of pictures will bring you up to date to where I am at this point: Paint on plastic, grey for the body and bonnet along with the seat cushions and black for the chassis and dashboard assembly along with the rear of the front seats: Then a liitle painting detail on the first stage of the engine: A drop of paint on the engine mount area: Then the most difficult paint masking I've attempted to date after the paint has been put on: The inner wings in the engine bay painted and fitted along with the doorcards: Stage 1 of the engine fitted and the seats now weathered and dry fit ready to put the dashboard in and assemble the inner tub: That's about it to date guys. I have since fit the wheels and assenbled the interior tub so maybe I can progress it a little more this weekend and post some further progress. Thanks for looking. Brian
  17. This looks an amazing kit Gary - looking forward to the conclusion. Brian
  18. As promised here's my first build log on BM and it's a car of all things, when all I've ever built before is AFVs. As explained in my Beetle thread in Completed section, I had a little modellers block and was drawn out of it with a bang with my Beetle Cabriolet and was so inspired by the quality of the in-expensive kit, I bought the Citroen and here she comes. The kit is around 70% complete and here is the story so far in stages: Thanks in advance for stopping by:- The Victim I started with the first stages of the engine first as per the instructions: Then moved onto the floor pan and front axel assembly: I then put the seats together and dry fitted them into the floor of the inner tub after fixing in the control pedals: I was really impressed with the fit and the detail on the quilted seats and also the seatbelts on the rear seat. Ready for some primer now so that I can get on with the interior detail. Black for the floor pan and chassis and grey for the seats. More pictures to follow soon to bring you up to where I am at the moment. Thanks again for looking Brian
  19. Thanks for the kind comments guys. The 2CV is more of a challenge with a 2 tone paint job and yellow is a bitch to use. Gloss painting is lot harder to get an authentic scale finish that matt cammo schemes on AFVs to will be concentrating on a modern tracky thing once the Citroen is finished. Cheers Brian
  20. Thanks Ste, the HT leads were the only item added to the model, everything else is in the kit.
  21. Be gentle car men, this is my first foray into car kits as an aside from AFVs. I have to say that this little fella rescued me from wallowing in a hiatus where I just couldn't get out of a rut despite all of the inspriation on BM. I feel now fully restored and totally inspired, so much that I am a good way into the Citroen 2CV Charleston, with a build log to follow. So here goes with my little red cabrio inspired by my son's 1976 beetle he runs every day. I know the paint finish isn't competition quality but I'm pretty pleased with my result. For a £14 kit the fit is first class and I now have more in my stash. Thanks for looking guys! Brian
  22. Hi Ste, yes I will be putting mesh on behind the bonnet but have just used the decal on the fan. Main paint has commenced, yellow is awful to paint but it's done now and just waiting for the blacl to cure properly. I have really enjoyed putting this kit together and have been really impressed with the fit. I'll post some progress pictures up soon. Brian
  23. Really great work on the service cart Mal, and the dio seems to be coming together really well!
  24. Great work so far matey, looking forward to the next stages - keep up the good work!
