  1. I like that they are releasing it as a stand alone kit instead of having to buy 3 issues of a magazine like the Delta release. Would like to see them re-release the Delta as a stand alone kit as well...
  2. Some vague vision of 2 what ifs (tropical schemes) for the Lufwaffe still holding out in North Africa in late 1944, for some reason I feel insecure buying anything less than 6 of the new tool releases I like especially the smaller kits... it will be a miracle if I build one in the long term!
  3. The Good Doctor has diagnosed yet another Britmodeller member with ANTSCADS Airfix New Tool Stash Compulsive Acquirement Disorder Syndrome Just bought eight of the new tool Me 262 myself what can I say except that I am an Airfix addict...
  4. Does anyone do aftermarket spoked wheels for the Roden 1/72 Vauxhall D-Type (staff car and the ambulance) would liked to have seen spoked wheels on the ambulance as per the box art illustration but not to be...
  5. Well thats done it - no pilot figures - not buying it, useless I tell ya
  6. Unfortunately Hasegawa did not release this kit with the splinter camo as a decal option so they saved me from forking out on it...
  7. Now that would be an interesting topic to see cross sections (length and diameter) of all the major well known fighter/attack aircraft external fuel tanks (not to mention the internal fuel tank configuration) over the years so we can appreciate the engineering that goes into such matters! Thank you all for the informative replies.
  8. Do Eduard have some special arrangement with Airfix, Tamigawa etc... whereby they receive new releases well in advance of us pedestrians so they can work their magic?
  9. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the fuel tank sloshing issues - do they not have the anti slosh foam or internal baffle structure to minimise the effect of slosh and cg issues?????
  10. Well I have said this before and I all say it again - Westland Wasp Go on Airfix you know you want to...
  11. And every set comes with one of 12 individually sculpted 1/72 resin figures of Mad Mike Hoare's legendary mercenary team as a bonus (or at least we wish) ! Que - must watch the film "Dark of the Sun" ...
  12. You need to update your subscription to Flight International or your quality news provider - in service with a very nice exotic colour scheme I might add ! Which is why I want one...
  13. These kits won't be "flying off the shelves" as all Goshawks have been grounded with oxygen supply issues!
  14. Me too I wanted to buy the Airfix B17 + resupply set but gave it a pass on cost grounds, I will only stick to buying the new tools for the year from now on and I will be purchasing a lot less of them in quantity than in previous years...(will give the repop re-issues a wide birth as well as i have plenty of aftermarket decals in the stash). I have also started to buy a lot more second hand kits - which I did not buy much of previously...
  15. Still quite a few differences between photo of real thing and resin mud guard unless there are variations in the real mud guards (different production batches?) No central spine on upper half on real thing No rectangular support latch plate on right hand side just below the lip on resin mud guard Vents strakes are too narrow on resin mud guard - looks twice as wide on real thing
  16. Yes about half the price of their new H8K Emily release, would like to see the brown and green shades of the camo as a decal option... their russian air-air weapons set was available separately and was never cheap
  17. I do like the box art on this new release - the figures look quite good as well smoking pipe pose, and periscope are a bonus!
  18. Well I suppose they had to come out with it - Persian Pussy playing with Vympel scratching post... Maybe we should start a trivia quiz competition - what have the Iranians NOT mounted on the Tomcat? I might just have to fork out for this one when it comes out.... below images from https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=162420
  19. Well I could not resist this kit and bit the bullet - bought a couple direct from BPK for $30 USD each - certainly beats the evil bay scalpers average price of $36 each
  20. Right then - thats done it no step on the front undercarriage anti FOD guard - absolutely useless, unbuildable! except in flying configuration
  21. I say chaps with Czech timing - Attack Squadron have just released a 2 stage set for the Tamiya Mossies
  22. Detached to Aviano at the time for exercise "Italeri ReForger Repop"
  23. It would be interesting to know how much if anything Airfix (Hornby) has to pay for the privilege of using said trademarks... I have no idea whether any money is exchanged but I would like to think Boeing does not charge for the privilege as model kits generate awareness of the aircraft company and its history and generate good will...
