  1. Absolutely. Having all that spray would have just hidden the model. Thanks for your kind comments.
  2. I couldn’t find any other photos of it and never worked out what it was. It doesn’t show in the plans so because of the lack of references I left it out.
  3. That’s what piqued my interest. Some great weathering to copy
  4. Rob yes I used a combination of cotton wool and gloss varnish in this seascape. I now use an addition of wet palette paints also to add more depth.
  5. I specialise in naval modelling in addition to aircraft + armour.   **Available for commission builds**

  6. This diorama is based upon the Hobby Boss 1/700 USS Wasp (LHD-1) along with Dodo Models’ HMAS Warramunga (FFH-152). It is based on a photo of USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) and HMAS Arunta (FFH-151). The USS Wasp was upgraded using Eduards extensive etch set with additional Orange Hobby AH-1Z and SH-60 in addition to resin and etch deck vehicles. There are over 100 figures painted to represent crew and marines boarding the V-22 Osprey’s and MH-53 Super Stallion.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_naval_forces_in_the_Falklands_War Gives you details of every ship involved
  8. Another of my commission builds is the 1/350 kit from Black Cat Models depicting the Flower Class Corvette HMS Aubretia in somewhat lumpy waters.
  9. Another of my previous commission builds that recently featured in Airfix Model World magazine was Atlantic Models 1/350 Type 12M Modernised Rothesay Class frigate. I added some MicroMaster 3D printed parts to improve on some of the kit parts including an amazing 4.5” Mk.6 gun. It represents her moving towards the gun line, heavily rusted and worn in the South Atlantic in 1982.
  10. My latest commission finally finished. A huge thanks to Peter Hall from Atlantic Models for all his help and support in enabling this build in addition to Mike McCabe at Starling Models as it required a fair few additional parts to convert it from the twin 4.5” gun version to the Exocet and SeaCat armed Batch 2 fit. It is based on an old black and white photo I found on the internet. Whilst a lengthy build it was nice to finally get it over the line.
  11. Is that a 540lb or 1000lb underneath the centreline?
  12. Thanks for that. I was trying to avoid the DJRP as it would need scratchbuilding, and there's enough to do on the Trumpy 1/32 Harrier!! cheers
  13. Hi, im due to start my Harrier build which will be modelled during the very early stages of Op Telic. My question is regarding ordnance. I am intending to complete a loadout of BL-755, AGM-65, AIM-9L/M and Fuel Tanks. Was any ordnance carried under the centreline pylon? With the Cluster munitions and Maverick, there would be no need for any targeting pod, but I was looking at either 540lb or possibly 1000lb bombs on the centreline. Would this be appropriate for an early Op Tepic load, or would something else have been carried on the centreline pylon? Many thanks Toby
  14. Hi, I've just bought the Hobby Boss 1/48 F/A-18A kit with aftermarket bits and bobs from Aires. I've done a fair bit of Internet research but can't seem to find any decent photos of any of these squadrons aircraft with live weapons during Desert Storm as they all seem to be with empty racks. VMFA-451 - based in Bahrain VFA-82 - USS America VMFA-115 - based in Saudi Arabia If anyone can help with weapons loads or links I'd really appreciate it. Cheers Toby
  15. Thanks Stephen. Just ordered the set. Thanks
