  1. A fine representation of one of my favourite marks of Spitfire. Ever since I read about it in the Airfix Magazine (?) back in the early '70s its been my favourite and this is a beautifully made model of it.
  2. Very impressive modelling with subtle weathering. Very attractive.
  3. Lovely model of one of my favourite aircraft - and some good pictures from interesting angles. Thanks.
  4. I think the stripes look just right. As has been said it could look just like sloppy modelling; this certainly isn't. Presumably the paint used in real life wasn't that permanent and so suffered from weathering quite badly.
  5. What sort of pencils do you use (the website has a few types) and for what applications (other than what you've done with the stripes). Its a new technique to me. Really like the model by the way.
  6. Very effective weathering to my eye - just right.
  7. Must have been a brave man to fly it! Well done for an interesting subject to tackle.
  8. My favourite aircraft and I work in the same factory that they were made in. Definitely one for the list.
  9. As someone just coming back into the hobby and thinking that a 109 would be a good place to start can anyone recommend some good sources of reference? I note a few in the posts above. I'm think of starting with a 1:48 scale 109 (although I can't decide E, F or G) are there any recommendations for a good kit? TIA Watcher
  10. I hope I can reach that standard; well done!
  11. I'm afraid I can't copy the link but if you go to the Telegraph web site you'll find a 360 photo of the interior of a Tranche 3 Typhoon's cockpit. Might be of use. W
  12. A standard of modelling and photography that I shall set as my goal as I return to modelling. I don't expect I will ever reach it though.
  13. Spitfires, Hurricanes, the occasional Lancaster and Dakota. Chipmunks and loads of Typhoons - I live just up the road from RAF Coningsby during the week.
  14. When I made my last model in the '70s there was no such thing. I've watched some videos on Youtube but I can't quite work it out. Is that you spray dark lines and then overspray with a thin coat that allows the black to show through?
  15. http://www.kryston.com/products-redone/heavy-metal-extra/ Carp anglers use this to wrap around their hook lengths - its a tungsten weighted paste. There are many types but this is a well known brand.
