  1. I used a MB mk.7 ejection seat from the F-104G Aires cockpit when I did an IRIAF Tiger. If you can get your hands on one of these... http://www.aires.cz/en/product/martin-baker-gq-7a-seats/8-1163/#lightbox/0/
  2. Hi everyone Something new (old) by me, finally took some time to take photos... It is a Tamiya 1:48 + CMK bomb bay and a quikboost seat. The decals are Two Bobs Kosovo Nighthawks... or something like that. Here are some pics: For more pictures, please check my blog: http://militaryaviation148.blogspot.si/ Thanks for looking in.
  3. Thanks for your help everyone. If I understood correctly, by the given facts, all F-5Fs came at once so they should all have same configuration regarding LERX and the nose? Which are which I still can't tell... This is AFV plastic. I believe it is the same style nose as the ones on the TuAF photos... and the LERX Now there's another thing bugging me. If I make an F version before the RWR update (the kit does not provide the RWR blisters), that means the AC has to be all pretty and clean...and I want it to be dirty and weathered!
  4. A few pics on the fitter update...slow progress I've glued on the vertical stabilizer, .., quikboost air scoops - nice improvement over the kit ones. Fitting of the plastic is less than good, but since I was already aware of that, I won't complain too much. Lots of putty and sanding still needed. cheers
  5. Thanks Rich, yes I'll try and contact Tom Cooper, he sounds like the right person for the inquiry... No build pics yet, I just opened the box yesterday...sorry if I'm wasting network bandwith with my posts, but I do not wanna rush things... Well, here are some photos of the sprues, I assume I'll start with it later on today... A few years back I did an AFV F-5E, and I have nothing but good words for it. What I remember is I used the Aires cockpit, avionics and the nose gun which look awesome but weren't designed to fit all together at once... Without the resin, this should be a nice and pleasant build... Excuse me, for this going a bit OT... cheers
  6. So far I found out this much... Tunisia acquired eight F-5Es and four F-5Fs. These have since been supplemented by seven ex-USAF F-5Es. 82-0634/0635 Northrop F-5E Tiger II for Tunisia as Y-92501 and Y-92503 82-0636 Northrop F-5E Tiger II for Tunisia as Y-92515 82-0637/0639 Northrop F-5E Tiger II for Tunisia as Y-92505,07,and 09 82-0644/0645 Northrop F-5E Tiger II for Tunisia as Y-92511 and 13 82-0640/0643 Northrop F-5F Tiger II for Tunisia as Y-92502,04,06,and 08 some sources say four were supplemented, some say seven...
  7. Thanks for the input, I've also read about this current upgrade but can't find anything about some older ones...but I'm pretty sure that there were some changes like Giorgio said... Does anyone know anything about those blisters on the side of the nose and in the rear of the fuselage near the exhausts?... I know many companies from different countries offer Tiger upgrades (Israel, Brasil, Singapore, Italy?) to different standards (F-5TIII, F-5EM/FM, F-5S). Brasilians use the Italian FIAR Grifo radar as far as I know... but where do the Tunisians fit in this story? Here's a photo without blisters... I think these are photos from the delivery, where you can also see them missing photo source via internet Another thing I noticed is that the roundels on the side and the ones on the wings aren't the same size. The ones on the wing are double in size...which makes my decals half usable... OK, I just found out those blisters are EWPS-100 radar warning receivers (RWR)...
  8. Thanks Giorgio. I totally agree with you, I love this scheme too. It took me some time to decide between this one and the dirty grey Jordanian I also like. I'll try and do this one weathered out... still need to do some research on the subject though, armament and such...
  9. Hello chaps. I'm very glad I can join in on this one. Since I have an AFV kit in the stash and the needed decals I can start straight away. Probably won't add a resin cockpit but I might throw in some aftermarket seats... the decals are for a single seat version, but I think I can handle the replacement numbers... Tunisians... cheers
  10. Thanks for the encouraging words Back with some hard labor... First steps on making the wheels bays look a bit better. And the air brakes. huh, I've never seen them in open position, maybe I'll just make them half closed... fun work anyway till next time...
  11. After a longer period of vacations and travelling, I got back home and finally found some time for modelling. cheers
  12. Here's a drawing of the three K-24 cameras replacing the MM...(bottom view) and the bomb pylons.
  13. Hi Larry I will try to answer some of your q's...but I'm in my office at the moment, I can send you some stuff on PM later on... As far as I know, they were both NMF and in camo. I believe they were painted in camo later on in their service after some overhauls @(Zmaj, Moma Stanojlović,..). In the beginning the NMF examples had US stencils, later they were replaced by Serbo/Croat ones.. The example in Belgrade museum is a F-86D - you can see the MM system and no racks.. The one in the grass at The Ljubljana - Brnik airport is a recce variant .. http://www.airliners.net/photo/1039705/L/ It is now being restored and moved to the Pivka military history museum... http://www.noviceznotranjske.net/ureditev-kompleksa-park-vojaske-zgodovine-se-koncuje/ Scroll down in this link of the restoration, there's a nice photo of the cameras... http://achtungskyhawk.com/2015/06/08/photo-report-the-wizard-of-kranj-yuaf-aircraft-restored/ IF-86D had 3 K-24 cameras instead of mighty mouse rocket system It could also carry bombs (FAB, SAB) photo from magazine YUVAM bilten Sept. '87 Here's a site with interesting info on that subject but you'll have to use a translator... http://www.paluba.info/smf/index.php/topic,9429.0.html You must be careful of different camo patterns and emblems on the nose... I'll get back at you later on with the camera system and the badges/emblems... cheers, Vasko
  14. What do they mean "first" strikes against IS? Haven't they already bombed them during siege in Kobani?
  15. Thanks guys. It's a quickboost nose cone. The shape is "OK" but the fit is bad as it is a bit too small in perimeter. No biggie to solve with some putty...
  16. No hijacking at all, thanks for posting. I think it's appropriate here on this thread since it can be used on the Su-7. It does look nice. I have a Ciro models MiG-23MF set and I know their stuff is hq...
  17. Just found out about this GB, great news! I have an AFV F-5F and some aftermarket for it. I'm in with a Tunisian Tiger. cheers
  18. Well the front bay looks OK, but the main ones are so so, at least judging from the photo. I mean, it's better than OOB... Here's the real deal... http://scalemodels.ru/modules/photo/viewcat.php?id=6228&cid=214&min=12&orderby=dateA&show=12 http://scalemodels.ru/modules/photo/viewcat.php?id=6227&cid=214&min=12&orderby=dateA&show=12 cheers
  19. I know about this Ciro set, but I never noticed the bay doors are included. That's nice. They certainly look like BM/BMK. I'm pretty sure you can use this on a Su-7 regarding the wells and its doors. The picture on the link is small, can you tell me more about the details in the wells? Do those wires and hydraulics look OK?
  20. Just some little work i did on exhaust today Su-7 had a hUGE exhaust. Eduard parts enhance it nicely...
  21. Thanks lads, I'm glad it's finally done and parked on a shelf. Shrek51, I really can't comment your troubles on Begemot decals, mine went on quite OK. Have you tried solvents like microset and microsol? The only bad thing I can say about those decals is they turned yellowish. To solve that you simply leave them sunbathe on the window for a week or too..
  22. Thanks a lot for your support. I hope I'll do this fitter justice... Werner you're right. The SAC LGs are kit's copy. You can do both versions with skids and without. They are also recommended for the Su-17- but I really wouldn't know how correct that is... I think I got 'em cheap somewhere, and I doubt I'd buy them again at full price - not the most needed part... but I do recommend the Armory wheels and the Neomega cockpit if you can get 'em for a good price. Oh yes I almost forgot, what you really want is the Eduard wheel wells doors - I have the BKL ones, but I need the BMK version - the kit doors are huuge, oversized and too thick. Even by trimming them by half makes it no better. Eduard PE contains some parts to detail the LGs a bit and also the wells. I still think some wiring inside is needed. cheers
  23. Hi everyone This was one of those projects stretched out to the max over the years. Back then there was no GWH 29s and the Academy MiG was the only game in town. To make it a 9-13 version - the humpback I used a Neomega conversion (cockpit and the spine). In terms of accuracy it is debatable as the hump is not quite correct. Well nevertheless it is OK imho.. If any of you did the Academy 29 you all know it's quite a pain. The kit itself is nice, but needs some add ons to look better (exhausts, nose cone, armament). I had to cut the original spine and replace it with the resin one. Tons of putty were used in the process...Also there was some panel scribing and riveting.. I've used Fru Fru R-27 R and Eduard MiG-21's R-60. I really wouldn't know if that is accurate but I guess it looks good. I have a few photos of the red 24 and in some it appears to lack the front LG mud guard, yet on some other photos it is there... Decals are Begemot and the paints used are by Akan shades for Fulcrum I hope you like it.... Thanks for watching, please check my blog for more photos and info cheers
