I notice the pilot is nowhere to be found. Typical Baka Shinji -

I'd say stick a giant cannon in the nose, but thats my suggestion for how to improve everything -
Not sure how useful these are but a couple of reference drawings for the fighter, might help

If it helps those vents in the shaver nose cone are supposed to be gaps for the forward sensor array so sticking some prongs and antenna on there is a sound idea, experimental enhanced sensors or some such Or some massive cannons -
Going to be a beauty of a jet The thrust vectoring is a bit of a pain to put together, the fit wasn't great on my version and needed some help

I believe they do selections for the other ships and planes too Pretty convenient -
Still waiting (maybe in vain) for Revell to re-release this kit at a bit more of a reasonable price She was a monster of a ship on the show definitely earning her name of 'The Beast', good luck with her

I'd be hoping it would add hangar bay details, a squadron of fighters and the modified flight deck compared to the original. Plus as you say new markings Bit quiet on the new kit front at the moment but with both the film and the soundtrack out in May I'd suspect something released about then too. The new enemy destroyers maybe -

Very attractive build, I wonder if they'll release an upgrade set for the battlecarrier to build it in that style? Still my favourite alien ship The film itself is out on DVD/Blu-ray 25th of May with about three hours of extras on the top tier release, English subtitles also which is very handy -

Looks very spiffy Harlock was originally a bit of a Yamato spin off. Same creator, same basic art style, it was at conception meant to be part of the Yamato universe (Harlock was to be the elder brother of the main Yamato character) But it grew to be its own thing. Continuity is a little hazy, it's had a few re-imaginings and alterations most recent being a high budget CGI film which was pretty breathtaking. Harlock is a pretty popular franchise, and its linked to several other shows as part of a grand universe of stories which is pretty dense and interweaving. Takes a bit of effort to break into but rather good overall. Emeraldas was always a favourite of mine -

Hi there I've found that Hobbylink Japan is a solid option for getting hold of the kits, though I hear hobby search and Amiami are good options too. They do pop up on ebay and Amazon, plus a couple of specialist shops but prices tend to be a bit steep. If you can get a good postage rate you can usually get them cheaper than ebay etc, worth shopping around With the shows, Google will see you right I won't link directly as its a bit of a hazy area but they aren't hard to find and well worth a look. Keeps the best bits of the original and adds some excellent stuff on top. Not many old style space operas out there with full scale battles and world changing consequences riding on the choices of the heroes. Classic stuff -

Yeah, I did a tank in Berlin Brigade colours and it took forever But definitely worth it, one of those things where the effort is rarely wasted -

I'm sure they'll get Michael bay to direct it, lots of slow motion fireballs and needlessly sweaty people That carrier looks cracking though, I was divided on whether to pick one up but I think that's made my mind up Also available, a commerative coin https://iei.jp/9274/ Which is apparently a legit legal tender coin with our very own Queen on the opposite side I'm sure the Queen has appeared on some awesome designs in the past but I think this is the first time she's had a space battleship all guns blazing -

Best of luck Most of the dazzle schemes work out very easy once you spot the trick in the pattern, though in this scale it's going to be a pain in masking tape I'm going to test it on some of the old Earth ships, only a few quid each so no big issue if it goes wrong -

Have a go at this one or perhaps more realistically... The Gamilas ships seem to use a German style camo which makes sense given their theme, but I think American style camo would work well on a spacecraft, especially in the Yamato universe where most fights happen at visual range. plenty of examples here http://usndazzle.com/1Web/Index.html -

I am in favour of the group build, but it will depend on what I can get in time about 99% of HLJ is out of stock so I'll have to see if I can get something on hand. Either a battlecarrier in splinter camo or maybe something a bit more ambitious. Hard choice For the Domelaze, it is a lot of plastic On the show most ships gain and lose detail depending on the scene, Yamato herself for instance has a lot of hull markings that you almost never see but are supposed to be very prominent. As you say I think it boils down to what you think works, I tend to just build them as they appear with minimal extras, but then again I'm impatient I thought the added detail on the other ships improved them, and as far as I know it would make your build unique. Ultimately either choice can be justified, certainly in the spirit of the design -

Quite right sir, one and the same Seems all these Gamilas ships have landing gear which is quite novel, not entirely sure where the gear is on the Dreadnought but it looks pretty hefty Quite a small ladder really, I wonder if it has bigger doors and ramps elsewhere for cargo... On a related note, bit of a video showing the lack difference in surface detail. Still an awesome ship though -

its the bulge under the intake I think they are retro thrusters, too small to be torpedoes but I could be wrong
