  1. Without the head and arms it reminds me of something from Terminator
  2. Very nifty for such tiny little things Fascinated to see what you make of the bigger stuff one day
  3. Happily enough those colours are probably perfect for the setting given poor old planet Earth looks like this... those dull reds and yellows blend in nicely with the whole nuked out Mad Max scenery I always reckoned that's why the Earth ships were painted in mostly reds, yellows and greys. Not very good camo for Earth but if these fleets are deployed to Mars, Jupiter, Saturn etc those colours work out quite nicely
  4. Ah yes, miraculous how one can 'accidentally' acquire a fleet Not built the Gatlantis ship myself but the multi decker was a treat, which colour did you get?
  5. It is nice to see them evolving, the early kits like the Earth ships were a bit fiddly but by the time we get to the later carriers and such their design team hit their stride and they are engineered very nicely I love the triple decker carriers and the long nose battleship, hefty but detailed and quite striking.
  6. Love it Now all we need is a 1/500 Andromeda this Christmas
  7. Those little fuel tanks on the destroyers are a trial to assemble, I think I still have a dent in my thumb from an ill advised attempt just to squash it together According to lore these guys are the last scraps of the Earth Fleet, the final reserve built around some rather outdated but hastily refitted Japanese owned warships. Whereas the other nations of the world had seen their fleets gradually wiped out Japan had been assigned to defend the Earth-Moon perimeter so still had some ships and resources in reserve, this is also I think why Japan handles construction of Earth's mega ship, the rest of the UN is throwing everything into the grinder to buy them time. The cruiser is a Murasame Class, the destroyer Isokaze class. These are all the names I could find... UNCN First Fleet at Pluto in January 2199. 1 Kongo type Battleship Kirishima (BBS-555) 8 Murasame type Cruisers Atago (CAS-226) Abukuma (CAS-229) Yugiri (CAS-253) Nachi (CAS-702) Murakumo (CAS-718) Ibuki (CAS-741) Tsurugi (CAS-777) Yakumo (CAS-890) 12 Isokaze type Destroyers Isokaze (DDS-101) Ayanami (DDS-103) Shikinami (DDS-106) Shiranui (DDS-114) Yukikaze (DDS-117) Ayase (DDS-119) Fuyusuki (DDS-147) Minazuki (DDS-148) Hatsushima (DDS-149) Kagerou (DDS-164) Shimakaze (DDS-172) Tachikaze (DDS-216) Two other known ships: Murasame (CAS-707) Yamato (BBY-01) Battleships, Kongo class Kongo (BBS-551) Haruna (BBS-552) Yoshino (BBS-553) Myoko (BBS-554) Kirishima (BBS-555) Hiei (BBS-556) Chokai (BBS-557) Fuso (BBS-558)
  8. Shiro Amada the fellow from 8th MS team? Top show that, I have the badguy from that in the stash somewhere, blue chap with a massive gatling gun Was a nice change from the usual angsty teenage protagonist, good to see some professionals
  9. Yeah, I think the, err, ground crews may have used a bit too much gloss
  10. A couple of 1/100 MG Gundam kits, they look nice out of the box but I reckon a bit of paint works wonders The first one goes by the name Jesta, a series produced special forces combat machine better than the average grunt but still in danger of being expensive cannon fodder if it goes up against one of the main characters You can get some quite colourful gestures from those individually jointed fingers... And the two most dangerous mobile weapons in the Gundam universe (Admittedly one of them is only really dangerous to those poor sods who end up flying them) The big red chap is the Sinanju, main villain of the Unicorn series. Very fast, very tough, extremely dangerous and obnoxiously well armed. His pet is the venerable Ball, redshirted ensign of the Gundam universe. Didn't weather these guys much, I figured the Sinanju was so good it would never find itself scratched or bumped and the ground crews would keep it pristine. The ball, well, not much weathering you can pick up in the twenty minutes between its first launch and its inevitable demise
  11. Their official Facebook thingy is teasing a 1/35 AT-AT That'll be a hell of a kit if true
  12. Excellent work, really looks the business Wouldn't want to get on its angry side
  13. That Seagull is going to look very good, steady hand there mate
  14. Absolute beauty of a jet, looks ready to give those overly theatrical aliens a good thrashing
  15. I can recommend the 1/72 jets from 2199, I prefer the Falcon myself but the Zero has that 70s rocket ship look down pretty good
  16. I really, really hope we get a 1/72 kit of this for the new series next year
  17. He's in the bathroom so turned the lights off in his room when he left Very energy conscious fellow
  18. The detail in that painting is great, especially given the size I was reading elsewhere that this kit can be build as an Electra rather than a Tiger, that there are alternate nose and cockpit parts for the more blunt strike bird rather than the pointy fighter. That said the fighter style fuselage in my view is much better looking Colour wise apart from grey at least one Squadron flew in green and grey camo And good luck on the family front!
  19. Even the mightiest battleship is no match for the Missus
  20. That shading looks a good affect, especially the cannons
  21. This is very irritating, the Bandai kits are gold and I think fair to say the best value for money SW kits out there. Apparently it isn't just models, a lot of the SW figure collectors are seeing the same situation developing with regard to Japanese produced figures which like the kits are vastly superior to their US/EU available equivalents. Sounds like Disney is cracking down on its franchise and has enough lawyers to make even major companies like Bandai go along. No huge surprise I suppose, DIsney has a bit of a reputation for ruthlessly enforcing its greed. Meanwhile HLJ and my wallet are about to get reacquainted
  22. Just finished putting the Y-Wing together, and that was a lot of pipes Kudos to Bandai for not short changing on that, even if it was about 70% of the assembly!
