I wonder what the point of it is? I mean your regular TIE fighters seem perfectly able to fly in an atmosphere with a much smaller body, and all the other designs are built around a ball shaped cockpit, even Vader's. The only exception is the bomber so maybe this is some sort of light bomber?

Quite surprised at how much new stuff we're getting Another trailer! This one though might give a few things away regarding the battles so perhaps view with caution if you want to see th efilm without spoilers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9ADCdHhjyw This one has more combat including a better look at the Rebel fleet with at least two new ship designs plus Blue Squadron X-Wings instead of the usual Red ones

Science Patrol vs. Bemular

I know nothing of this series and after watching the vids I still know nothing of this series Except that there must have been something amazing in the water back then! These little Bandai mechacolle kits though are very nice and seem to keep getting better, very surprising for the price.- 139 replies

Great news, I'll need one of those too Really fancy the hover truck but doesn't seem it's in this batch. Hopefully next time!

They are bringing the 1/35th Type 61 Tank back out as well, with the twin cannons. Quite possibly the best kit I've built in 25 years, just a joy

The pictures look a lot like the old snap fit Y-Wing they had a few years back.

Very nice! I was worried it was going to be a cartoon-ified version from Rebels, this is so much better

Another trailer happened In the space scenes I think I can make out a fleet of Rebel Frigates in the background, really shaping up to be a decent spectacle

Really liking the Scarif Shoretrooper, I guess they're some sort of light infantry, marines maybe given the name. Just begging for some alternate paint schemes

I think machinery on the upperworks isn't a bad idea, even the most luxurious ships still need the various mooring lines and capstans, cranes, exhausts, various radar and comms masts. I can imagine the same would be true in the future, if anything I bet they have an even bigger array of communication gear because every room will want space internet installed Likewise plenty of radar, so many micro meteors, dust and debris out there that could be fatal you'd want to see it coming especially as you don't have warship grade hull to shrug off the hits. Probably don't need to go over the top, I'm sure they'll have more efficient systems by then, but I reckon you'd want to provide a lot of comms bandwith for passengers and you'd want very clear sensors, that would suggest a need for hardware albeit clustered in the crew sections. -

Don't underestimate the little buggers .... Just nightmare fuel Always a bit concerned that the big party at the end was probably using the ex-Imperial garrison as the main course, I mean they've got form....
-
They've made an ISD MkII instead of the ISD MkI you see in the film, different bridge details and weapon fit. This is great for Empire or Jedi, not so much for the original or Rogue One

Better look at one of the new X-Wing schemes, there were some photos of this scheme leaked a few months back from the set of the film. It's called a Partisan X-Wing so maybe it belongs to a different group of rebels? Supposedly there are lots of rebel groups acting individually and it doesn't become a united resistance group until the third film. Not sure if it ties into the film, but the guys running the Rebels TV series have said there are many separate groups with different leaders and different equipment working to the same basic goal but with no coordination. So in the films the rebel group has only X-wing and Y-wing craft, in the Rebel series they only have A-Wings, plus there are the aquatic guys with the big warships etc. Eventually they all unite for the big final battle and form a single Rebel fleet with all their varied gear.

1/72 - Sv-262Hs Draken III by Hasegawa and by Bandai
Misrule replied to 172flogger's topic in The Rumourmonger
Counting the days until the VF-31 release, I like the customised ones but the production craft without the forward swept wings might be the best looking jets from any series Really hope someone somewhere brings one out in 1/72 -
The whole film just felt like a missed opportunity, they had some good actors, solid budget, some nice ideas but the plot was terrible, the pacing and editing bizarrely random and the Joker just shouldn't have bothered showing up It wasn't a bad film but it felt like they only gave about 70% of what it needed and they pulled back from really getting into the characters. Sanitised is how I might describe it, watered down. Real shame, was hoping for a modern Dirty Dozen and they were so close to doing that, the actors certainly could have done it if the producers had held their nerve and delivered a bunch of mostly irredeemable villains and killers being the lesser evil. Most of the characters worked well, I think they'd stand up in other films. But they really messed up the Joker. Word is they cut and re-edited most of his stuff to make him seem like he cared for Harley, in the original cut she was just a toy he dragged around a whim and left her to die when he was done. I'd like to see the original nasty version, see how it stands up to the other versions, the one in the film is just neutered Apparently the actor was quite angry at the edits too. Good building blocks but assembled by Romanian cowboys. Better than the last Batman film, but not nearly as fun as Guardians which is what it should have been. Missed opportunity, but still worth a watch for the characters if not the plot. Or directing. Or editing.

I like the second bridge option, with some windows detailed on that'll look a lot like the bridge cruise ships have. For the hangar bays, well its a civilian ship so they can be a decent size, you don't have to worry about them being a weak point in the armour Lot of cruise ships carry jet skis, pontoons and stuff, secondary small craft for the guests to use, so perhaps that might apply here? The Hangars wouldn't be just for loading and offloading but as a store for smaller craft? I mean you probably wouldn't take the whole ship down to the rings of saturn or whatever but you could send down tour parties in secondary craft? Just musings -

Looks a lovely kit of a shockingly ugly subject Whoever designed most of the Zeon kit really needed to cut back on the booze a bit Explains the wacky names though... -
The Imperial hover tank is built on an ex-army Alvis Stormer tracked transport, great use of real practical stuff instead of relying too much on CGI

I think the last configuration works very nicely, got some nice bulk to it I know this is all made up but I would say the engine set up works well with the apparent centre of mass if we imagine the U-boat bit is for the passengers and the F-14 bit has all the reactors, cargo, fuel and other industrial stuff. That puts the mass at the bottom of the design which is also where your main line of thrust is, makes an efficient design If it was real it wouldn't go spinning off axis Also got a lot of engines, and they are big ones compared to the size of the ship. This thing will be fast, like an ocean liner sort of thing rather than a cruise ship. Maybe she's some sort of express ship to get you from point A-B as fast as possible, Concorde of space or something I might suggest making the outrigger engines part of an FTL system, you've got plenty of linear thrust with the Venator engines so maybe they'd be sort of a warp drive thing. Or if they are conventional engines maybe cant them at different angles so the front ones don't melt the back ones It's going to look great I think
