  1. Looks a lot like an early version of the Pulsar fighters Earth uses in the original timeline, maybe a precursor in universe The trailer showed the classic Tiger fighters making a comeback too so I'd guess Earth is going to have a nice mix of fighter types for its coming conflict
  2. This chap was excellent in the film, look forward to this Quick question though, does he have a weapon? In some of the shots of this kit he has a handgun similar to the film but doesn't seem to be parts for one in the sprue shots?
  3. A few more scenes showed up, more explosions, some new fighters, and first look at Andromeda looking pretty intimidating
  4. Sounds like an excellent build on the way
  5. Very lovely kits, The thrust vectoring on the Falcon was a bit fiddly I recall, lot of little flaps to align, but nice look when it is done I'm guessing by the female pilot the Zero fighter is the Orange nosed 02 craft, were you thinking of building them up as in the show or trying a new paint scheme? The Zero was supposed to be a prototype with only three units, but the Falcon was standard issue and we see I think three or four different markings in the show, so probably lots more variations to play with
  6. I like the Falcon a lot, the Zero always looked a bit too blatantly sci-fi, like a classic 70s rocket ship which I guess it was But the Falcon, I can see something like that being real and flying around thirty or forty years from now. Still, I do have a weak spot for near future jets. Thanks Macross, Yukikaze and Ace Combat
  7. Got a nice effect on that I think Always impressed by just how huge the thing is
  8. About February or March I think to match the new film. Not sure on the price but that electronic base is going to push it up and I'm not sure about that. I'm sure it'll look nice but I'm a bit old fashioned and don't like gimmicks in my battleships Couple of clearer pictures
  9. Atsuko Tanaka will always be the true Motoko to me I'd listen to her read the phone book I'll watch the film, and it looks a lot like the original 90s film, I'll give it credit for capturing that overcrowded grey and neon future a lot of movies back then imagined, but I can't see it topping SAC and hope it doesn't try. Let it be it's own thing and leave the series alone Also if it ruins Tachikoma...
  10. I used Insignia Red on the Darold and turned out quite nice, I'd guess probably the same red would be used on the other Gamilas units too, probably Melda's jet as well Also first look at the 1/1000 Andromeda. Interesting base, like the light and sound X-Wing Bandai did few months ago. EDIT- Just noticed, Cosmo Tiger fighters too on the base! Fingers crossed for a 1/72 of them
  11. The official colour is supposed to be this... The closest Humbrol I can see is Oxford blue number 104 though probably wants a bit of grey in there. Also I'd suggest a couple of tins, there's a lot of surface area to cover More than I expected
  12. Think you'll go big and bulky like a UC Armour or more bare bones like the one that shows up on IBO?
  13. Rather than making a new thread I thought it might be better to bring this one back with some new material The sequel to 2199 is getting closer, due end of February 2017, and we've started to see more and more pieces of design and footage. First up was this beauty... The new Earth flagship and Yamato's replacement. A 1/1000 kit for this has been confirmed for early next year. Not much info yet but she's supposed to be beefier that Yamato so should be a decent sized kit. Also had a couple of trailers the latest of which had this in it The trio of superdreadnoughts with that intricate hull marking is awesome enough, but there's also some Earth ships fighting beside them wearing American names. Real joint fleet. The whole snippet also shows some new Gatlantis warships too Bandai did a really good job with the kits for the 2199 series, well beside the aircraft, so hopefully with this new series starting we'll get a similar shower of space warships Maybe even one of those ink master dreadnoughts
  14. Also can't help but dig out these old pics from my attempts some years back Apologies for the quality
  15. Someone released the tank from Terminator not so long ago if I recall, and some 1/35 robot troopers to go with it, but afraid I have no idea on the price
  16. The Raider is a bit like the Bird of Prey in that they used the same model but for two different ships, one is corvette sized and the other a heavy fighter. The one from Voyager is the bigger ship, it's supposed to be about 68 metres long while the variant we see in TNG and DS9 is about Runabout size, roughly half that. I'd say given the ship model was originally built for TNG then it is supposed to be originally 30-odd metres so 1/144 is probably pretty close. Bit more detailed information here http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Maquis_fighter_model
  17. I know the feeling, I'd love a couple more myself but the postage from Japan is nuts .
  18. Bandai's M61A5 It's a big beast in 1/35th It is a bit pricey, same league as the newer Dragon kits but very well worth it
  19. An iconic beast You could film your own Star Wars movie with that
  20. Did you build her up? Looks like the sort of thing you can really go to town on, filling up the truck bed with bits and bobs, maybe an Ambulance conversion or a Katyusha style missile truck. I need to buy at least five of them I think
  21. Meng might be catching them up on that though with their new releases, I haven't seen a bad review of their snap together Mustang and I'm very keen to see how they've managed to make a snap fit 1/700 warship without skimping on detail That said these little mechakits are lovely for the price, build whole squadrons of the things
  22. Love the Jesta, king of Feddie Mook Suits! Pity they only had a few action scenes, showed what decent kit in the hands of trained veterans can do. Really look forward to seeing a superior build for one
