Great looking work Calls for a little Jazz maybe All too often they were the cannon fodder ships of the series, nice to see they can win a fight when not facing named characters!- 9 replies

kotobukiya wonderfest new kits mechs & girls

Have a few of the Megami Device girls in the stash, lot of articulation on them and work out at about 1/12 scale so works well with SHF and Figma products. -

So when Lando shows up in Empire Strikes Back and yells 'What did you do to my ship!?' I guess he's got a good reason to be angry! -

A bounty from distant lands! The Dreadnought class Space Battleship from Yamato 2202, backbone of the Earth Fleet, and the VF-31A from Macross. Not really a huge fan of Macross Delta, but they had some great hardware- 879 replies

Space Battleship Yamato General Thread
Misrule replied to Misrule's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
Yeah, they are a good start, bit of fighting, bit of setting up what has happened in the years between series and showing how the old crew are a bit upset that a lot of the promises they made are being broken by a new hawkish Earth government. The episodes are being released like Thunderbolt and Origin so quite a wait between the batches, though they should be arriving in batches of 4 now instead of 2 Worth a look I'd say, but very early days yet and it'll be a while before we get to the really good stuff (All out war between Earth and Gatlantis) But to watch it all in one go we're probably talking next year easy, this is a full 26 episode run rather than the 12 a lot of shows get and its a long wait between them sadly Also I feel your pain The next Origin looks like it's going to be massive with the Colony Drop mission, and Thunderbolt is a strong show with an interesting cast. Oh, and if you've managed to avoid spoilers this series of Titan is amazing. -

An image of the decal sheet for the upcoming D-Class battleship kit has been released showing the names of the fleet Almost all of them British names or from RN ships, quite curious. I would have expected a Detroit or Dortmund maybe to show the international flavour. So add to that you also have the A-Class battleships Andromeda, Aldebaran, Apollonorm, Achilles and Antares and that's the full new build fleet. -
Babylon 5 Omega Class Destroyer by Warp S
Misrule replied to Kallisti's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
Love the Omega class, big brutal looking brick of iron there's some great information on wiki about the design process of the model and how we sadly only saw a tiny fraction of what it could do on the show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega-class_destroyer- 14 replies

Space Battleship Yamato General Thread
Misrule replied to Misrule's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
Greetings I can tell you the Andromeda is 444mm long once built, a decent sized ship and pretty bulky, I can't tell you much about the light and sound unit as the instructions make it seem to be an integrated unit, I don't have the kit itself yet (Holding out for the blue sister ship Aldebaran due August) so can't offer any details. The 1/700 is an older kit from the late 70s, much cheaper but also far less detail and simpler. It's pretty big but smaller than the new high end kit. The old kit doesn't have its own light system included (Except for some very rare early versions) but has clear parts so easy enough to set up if you want. The 1/700 is decent enough for a test run and builds a decent ship, its so cheap you could have a fleet of them for a price of the 1/1000, but the newer kit is just a leap in quality and detail. Unfortunately it is also very expensive and a big box so shipping will be pricey and you will very likely take a customs hit, they like getting the big boxes in my experience. For the 1/1000 you have two choices, either Andromeda herself of her sister Aldebaran. Same kit just a different colour. Andromeda is out now and the blue one in August Also this ship is out at the end of this month That is the regular Battleship of the Earth fleet, smaller and cheaper than the Super Battleships of the Andromeda class some shots in the newest trailer for the eps due out later this month -

theres also a pair of battledroids due in June, same guy as came with the STAP air speeder thing, but this time just two droids in red for EpII themes. Very keen on this, love those goofy guys and lot of room to customise

I'd pay good money for a Sabre fighter, or a UN Frigate

Misrule replied to Misrule's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
Yeah those lights are far too bright and unnecessary, most of those clear parts should be opaque anyway, it offends the purist in me I'm sure Mad Monk could come up with something far more subtle and attractive The base Andromeda hull does seem to have been used for conversions, one of the ships in the series was called Arizona and was essentially an American built Yamato. Sort of a kitbash of Andromeda and Yamato parts. Seems like in addition to the mass produced standard ships each nation also built their own customised flagship, Yamato naturally, this Arizona, there was also a Bismark and Prince of Wales if I recall. So there is definitely some precedent for kitbashing an Andromeda into something more classic battleship like -

Misrule replied to Misrule's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
looking at pictures of the Andromeda sprue there are a couple of parts marked as not for use, they seem to be parts for the bow guns and the stand. That does suggest we might see a basic kit in the future, I mean seems odd to include unnecessary parts on their brand new flagship kit -

Incredible work on such a tiny ship! -
Looks like the next kits are re-releases with a tweak. The SNowspeeder is back but this time the 1/48 is packed with a 1/144 version, and Slave 1 is back but in Jango Fett markings from the prequels. After that there is a 1/144 Jedi fighter out in the mecha scale kits, looks like the triangular Episode II version to match Jango's Slave 1

Yeah it's just so expensive. Fingers crossed they release a version without electronics maybe with markings for one of the sisters, those nice blue ones. They also put the standard Earth battleship up for pre-order, the Dreadnought class designed to replace the old Kirishima type https://hlj.com/product/bann16388/Sci it sold out in less than 24 hours, took me by surprise before I could make a choice -
Turned out a treat despite the difficult process Got that classic retro rocket ship look and the colour scheme really accentuates that

They did have some stuff on show here... http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Toy_Fair_2017_Bluefin_Distribution_Tamashii_Nations_Bandai_Hobby_172640.asp Nothing new to us but it does at least confirm Bandai is putting the fighter kits out in the US. There was also a look at their BB8 kit somewhere, but I think that was Tokyo.

A excellent if dainty ship compared to some of it's opponents Very agile though! If it helps a while ago I put together a list of the Earth ships that went into the battle at Pluto to try and match the names and numbers on the decal sheet to a particular ship. I think there is only the numbers for the yellow marked ships in this set but might be handy UNCN First Fleet at Pluto in January 2199. 1 Kongo type Battleship Kirishima (BBS-555) 8 Murasame type Cruisers Atago (CAS-226) after a mountain - Yellow Abukuma (CAS-229) after a river- Yellow Yugiri (CAS-253) 'Evening Mist'- Yellow Nachi (CAS-702) after a mountain- grey/red Murakumo (CAS-718) – Gathering clouds, grey/red Ibuki (CAS-741) after a mountain- grey/red Tsurugi (CAS-777) old style sword - grey/red Yakumo (CAS-890)--after a town, red/white 12 Isokaze type Destroyers Isokaze (DDS-101)- shore wind- grey/red Ayanami (DDS-103) woven waves- Yellow Shikinami (DDS-106) parting waves- Yellow Shiranui (DDS-114)---shining foam—white red Yukikaze (DDS-117) 'snow storm'- Yellow Ayase (DDS-119)- a city- white/red Fuyutsuki (DDS-147)- Winter Moon- grey/red Minazuki (DDS-148)- June- grey/red Hatsushima (DDS-149)an island- white/red Kagerou (DDS-164)- Mirage- grey/red Shimakaze (DDS-172) island wind- Yellow Tachikaze (DDS-216)---Sword Wind, grey/red Other known ships: Murasame (CAS-707) 'autumn rain'- yellow Yamato (BBY-01) Kongo (BBS-551) A mountain Haruna (BBS-552) A mountain Yoshino (BBS-553) mountain Myoko (BBS-554) Volcano Kirishima (BBS-555)- Mountain Hiei (BBS-556) -Mountain Chokai (BBS-557) mountain Fuso (BBS-558) Classical name for Japan
