New kit due this week, the new badguy carrier from the new film. Not as good looking as the Gamilas ones I think, but still quite an original and interesting design. Probably end up picking one up and some escorts in the future

Absolutely ridiculous, and to quote Stephen Fry... “It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so f---ing what."There does seem to be a niche that exists purely to try and make people feel bad about themselves, the fellows shirt was worth a few jokes and good amount of mockery but thats it. Very sorry state of affairs.

Cheers And I agree, that battle carrier needs a bit of wear and tear to bring it to life. Quite a stand out scheme though, eyecatching. Camouflage apparently not a big thing in this series

Appreciated I'm trying to decide whether to lightly sand the paint smooth, or leave it a rough texture. Smooth is closer to the original ship but the roughness makes it look like cast armour and breaks up the just sheer amount of grey But glad it turned out nicely, its a lot of plastic

Picked up two of the dainty ships including the flagship myself, only just started with them but lot of detail for something so small And some of the old, old ships built many moons ago... Including my cat damaged Andromeda with her nemesis

I finally got my ancient camera back, one 90% done dreadnought.... Still need to blend the weathering in a bit, smooth off and sand some of the rougher paint Haven't worked on it for a while because this guy has been taking my time up

Maybe you can scratch a planet busting spinal cannon onto it like the dreadnought? Or given the sheer size make it double barrelled like the Earth flagship

There is a trailer now for the new film showing the next batch of green villains Also shows a green battlecarrier, so thats three confirmed variations on that ship now. nice For those who know the series, check out the Lambea, which shouldn't really be there at this point in the story. Looks like she may have survived her battle along with her commander

Wow, the tiny bridge crew is incredible Looks like he's recreating the first conflict between Yamato and the Domelaze. Yamato couldn't penetrate the Domelaz'es forward armour at range so had to get a bit closer....

There are one or two Gamilas folks who are a shade of green, technically you are right and as everyone knows 'technically right' is the best kind of right

More a shade of blue our Gamilas enemies/allies also significantly hairier

These new ships represent a different alien empire by the name of White Comet Empire Gatlantis, they are a new player on the galactic scene and are an enemy to both Earth and Gamilas. These guys are green rather than blue and if memory serves they come from the Andromeda galaxy. These Gatlantis fellows are invading Gamilas space and making serious inroads, as they push through the weakened Gamilas fleet they will eventually run into Earth space and begin an invasion. We've seen them briefly in the series fighting the Gamilas navy and as PoWs in a Gamilas prison camp, and it looks like Earth and Gamilas will join forces in the new film to try and fight past an advanced guard from Gatlantis which is where I'm thinking these new models are from, tying into the film release Very insect look to them, which is a bit odd as the Gatlantis folks are just normal looking guys but with green skin I think the 'eyes' are a type of teleportation device but I could be wrong on that. If there is a second series the invasion of Earth space by Gatlantis was the big event including the best battles in the entire saga, hope this is a sign it'll happen

Agreed, the cruiser and destroyer are almost certain to be done, hopefully released as a two set Lot of investment in a bunch of models with pretty limited screen time. Hope its a sign we're going to see them more in the future

For almost the first time ever I predicted something! New 1/1000 kit revealed, a Gatlantis Carrier!

Thanks, its an M61A5 future tank from the Gundam series. Few of them in action here its a Bandai kit in 1/35 and its big! Absolutely lovely kit to build and looks quite intimidating when done Loved it so much I bought 4 of them

I like the design of the fighter, very Luftwaffe inspired

My secret weapon is a ragged sponge I don't have an airbrush, bit pricey, but I read a technique where you take some torn up sponge, dip it in thinned paint, then use it to lightly drag over the surface. It catches the raised areas to create streaks and highlights, but because the sponge texture is rough the patterns it creates looks random Also can be used to create graded areas of fading if you use very thin amounts of paint applied in a circular motion Here's an old picture of my 1/500 showing a fairly light application of the technique for some moderate weathering And here's an example of a more extreme bit of heavy weathering When my Camera gets working again, or more likely I get a new one I'll snap some old cruisers, my not in great shape Andromeda, and Domelaze

I drew a bunch when I was fifteen or sixteen and should have been paying attention in Chemistry Might still have some Love the carrier and fighters in particular Love the Camo work And glad the carrier turned out well despite decal issues My Andromeda took heavy damage from a cat based life form, but I still have some old cruisers kicking around somewhere

Bit of a leaked preview of some stuff from the new film, including new villain ships We've seen these guys before in the show and they make a big impact later in continuity so nice to see them in force. They already exist in mini model form, if I were a betting man I'd say they'll be the next 1/1000 scale ships for next year.
