  1. The base is mr.color 1500 black surfacer. Then buff till it is shiny. Next, mr.color super fine silver and buff. Some say you can achieve the same result with Tamiya but I have not tried.
  2. It has been while since my last post. With my new baby boy, all I can do at the moment is assemble afv kit, which most of the time does not require painting. Now I have some free time so I come back with the thing I like most -silver plane. Enough talking, this is what I have so far
  3. After that, I gently sanded the surface with 2000 grit sand paper. This will smooth out the surface from dust and create an even surface for gloss and decal. Then, I applied the 02 layers of gloss. Then again, 2000 grit sand paper before decalling. I found out that gloss paint itself is not enough to prevent silvering. To prevent silvering, you will need to smooth out the surface after the gloss. Next, a wash with Mig Dark Wash.
  4. Hi I have to ceased by F-16DJ WIP due to missing one important part. I am waiting for the remolded part. In the meantime, I take out my Hasegawa TA-4J. The thing that I like most about this kit is the very colorful decal set. First stop the cockpit. I didnt use the decal since I haven't been successfully with any decal on the raised detail. Then, the fuselage. There is nothing much to say about it. The fit is quite good compared to other Hasegawa kit, especially the Harrier one. There is one advice from me for those who are lazy like me . DONT close all flaps and slats. There will be more work than opening them. 1200 surface comes next to check for any errors. The canopy is temporarily attached using Micro Scale sef adhesive. I think this stuff is the safest way to attach the canopy. If you mess up, you can just use water to clean up. Next, the white C316 and blue were applied. Due to the weird shape of the fuselage, it is quite tricky to mask and paint the walk way. To be continued.
  5. I see that you use Life Color paint. There is a rumor from my friend about this brand. Its color fades very quickly. Is it true?
  6. I think it the same incorrect 27-ub one judging judging from the same incorrect rudder. It costs 40usd. I dont think it's worth buying...
  7. charley. reading yr post, i checked the kit again, because i made that kind of mistake sometimes. however, there is only one mouth cowl. (
  8. Well, the rumour about this kit is true. The surface is rough. I think it is event worst than hobbyboss kit. Next, I assembled the intake and tested fit with the low fuselage. And, I found out the horror. From the pic, you can see if you try to close the gap of the intake, you will have to deal with the step on both sides of the fuselage. To make the matter worst, if you close the gap, there will be step with the intake mouth. So, I think the only possible solution is leave the gap and fill it with styrene.
  9. After completing the A-10, i decided to tackle the notorious f-16dj italeri (kinetic). I havent found any review for this kit yet, but review of other Kinetic f-16 shows that it is gonna be a challenge (i dont care much about accuracy). I just completed part of the cockpit. besides the box shows super decal sheet, actually it is tiny. It only has two options: us and argentina. should it be called super?? nahhhh...
  10. It is finally done after a rough star and lazy ending . I just put all the heavy bombs on to have a bad bottom look. I know it might not take off (anyway, I dont think any model can fly ). I hope you enjoy my model.
  11. @s5. i believe you are a pro, thus this kit will be a piece of cake. .
  12. It is basically done. I just need to completed the hasegawa ground crews and that is it.
  13. what the f****? how could he do that??? I am gonna give up modellong
