Built for the F-18 STGB. A really good kit and I highly recommend it. Really happy with the finish I got on this. Low pressure, lots of thinner and using levelling thinner worked like magic! Just one of the many great tips I picked up in the group build forums!

Built this for the F-14 STGB but ended up finishing it in the KUTA! An absolute pleasure to build. Any mistakes are all my doing!

1/48 Meng F/A-18F RAAF 1 Squadron
This was a super fun build and I highly recommend this kit.
I still need to paint the cannon at front but was photo shoot day today for KUTA so I thought I may as well post this now too.

1/72 Italeri JS-2 Stalin Tanks
These need weathering but will have to do that later. Fictional red stars taken from 1/144 Eduard Mig-21. This was a dual pack with one easy build and one normal type. Can you tell which is which!?

1/48 Tamiya F-14A "Tophatters"
This was supposed to be for the F-14 STGB but unfortunately I didn't make it in time. Enough has been said about this wonderful kit. A thoroughly enjoyable build. I will definitely consider buying this one again!

1/72 Hasegawa F-15J Aggressor
Another model which languished on the shelf of shame for a long time. Something definitely outside of my comfort zone being 1/72, but a great learning experience and like the Cobra, is done and looks great on the shelf. Plenty of imperfections on this one but the finished product as a whole I am really happy with anyway.

1/48 Kittyhawk AH-1Z
This was a tough-ish build which the KUTA finally got me motivated to finish. Unfortunately the black basing meant the top coats turned out too dark but it's ok. It's done and looks good on the shelf.

I'm gonna speak my mind here. What a wonderful way to make a very beautiful aircraft extremely ugly! 😅
I will of course watch with interest but I will shed a tear 😢 when that frontal nob gets attached!

Ahhh! That looks so good Dennis!
I think I have said it before but the super hornets look so good with high vis insignia and brightly coloured tails.

Oh that sucks

Very nice! Very striking scheme that's going to take pride of place in the display cabinet
The colour match between the wings and the numbers is perfect. I was going to ask if you masked them.... surely not?!

Good start!

Looks great. The Matilda II looks very modern next to her!

Sign me up. I'll do a Harrier or if I can get one, a space shuttle!

That looks great. Good work on the sculpting

Yes I didn't even spray the bottom grey on my RAAF superhornet. It was identical to the primer so I just left it like that.

You must be happy with how those stripes turned out John!

It does have quite a fascinating shape... I don't think I'll be making a mad max style vehicle this time though. Sounds like something you would like to do Bertie
I spent two hours putting these wing tips together! They seem to have gone together reasonably well. Just the slat covering the back flap was the main problem. I might have to paint a thin black or grey line there if the edge doesn't look straight when painted. Amazing detail though right?
The rest of the build should be reasonably quick now. But while I have everything in parts I'll do some sanding and filling where required before assembling the wings and sticking on all the protrusions.
I've not lost my mojo with this and many thanks for the feedback and comments and likes which are keeping me motivated!
I should do the Rockeyes soon though...
How many can it carry I wonder..

Looks good James!
Definitely a big fan of Lemmy and motorhead, so can't wait to see those decals applied!

Sign me up. I'll do USS Saratoga or a Bradley AFV.

Well to say I had fun with this would be an understatement.
First I applied the decals then mixed some white paint in with the softner on top to wash them out a bit. Then I went pretty crazy with Tamiya panel line accent dark brown. Finally after using some panel line accent grey to wash off the brown with a cotton bud I let it dry for an hour or two. Then I got out my cheap as chips oil paints which have oil literally leaking out the lids and gave it some polka dots!
I then used one of my son's soft paintbrushes (now mine) to blend it all together.
The photo looks a lot darker than the real model and it actually looks better in real life.
I actually tried to adjust photo to make it look more like how it appears. In reality everything looks a lot more subtle so it's a bit disappointing I can't capture it here. Maybe when I get proper pics it will look better.
Anyway I think this needs a little display base to show it in its abandoned state properly so I'll try find something.

By no means perfect. I broke and lost a lot pieces over the course of time. But it looks nice on the shelf!
