F-15C/J Dead not to be resurrected.
arfa1983 replied to Corsairfoxfouruncle's topic in F-15 50th Anniversary STGB
This is a shame Dennis, but for sure the 1/72 Hasegawa F-15 is not a great kit. Maybe try an Academy or something else to use those nice decals you have. -
I agree. There's a few strange things in this Kinetic/Ammo instructions. I plan on toning these down with some oil paints but maybe you are right I should just remove them now.

Looks really good Mario. We're all our own worst critic!

***UPDATED title 1:72 F-15E White Walrus

Oh man that really sucks, because it was looking very very tidy. Was it gloss or matt? Maybe try a gloss coat again if it was a matt coat. It might bring it back then try satin or a different matt. -
Whoa... I was looking at it wondering if it was 1/32 ... It is a monster!

Thanks mate! Yes, LHS has spray booths with compressors and can rent them for only few bucks per hour.

Love that B-24. Is it 1/48?

Hope you feel better soon mate. Why not use the old crappy decals to patch what you need to?

Third page... That's no good! I made a big boo-boo last weekend and tried using rattlecan of auto primer in the 40+ degree heat. I knew in my heart it was a bad idea and sure enough it was like the model was covered in 180 grit sandpaper. Luckily I did only the bottom but it was pretty hard to sand back and the finish was far from perfect. But in any case I got down to LHS spray booth today and got the black and green on. Then this evening did decals. I will still need to finish some other painting when I'm back from leave but it should be pretty quick. Just the dielectric panels, rear end and wheel wells. Thanks for looking! Arthur.

Oooof. I had same problem with some Hasegawa F-15J Aggressor decals not too long ago but I was able to make them work well enough. But they were small and not so noticeable on an aggressor paint job. Hope the next set works better. Otherwise it would be possible to paint the datk blue?

Good idea with the metallics now. I usually do it at the end.

These look awesome especially as a pair.

I find that using thick white housepaint works really well for intakes when they are long. I just use an eyedropper to squirt it down into them and leave it vertical so it flows down inside. The paint pools at the bottom but then I pick it up from time to time and wipe away the excess.- 57 replies

Thanks Sam. I can only see that it's possible to install them "flat" on this kit. I won't be modifying them in the bent position. -
JASDF 30th Anniversary Mitsubishi F-2B

Looks awesome! At least you're building them after they crashed. If they started crashing after the build you'd need to be very selective about what you are building!- 28 replies
