Very cute! A superb scratch-build! Well done! -
Good evening. Another of my older builds: Zvezda's Bf 109F-2 1/72 snap kit, built as the plane flown by Hans Philipp of Stab I./JG 54. Enjoy!

Thank you! I think I neglected to file away the mould seams on the tracks. Plus, I couldn't get the wheels to align. Something to think about when I build UM's T-34 line.

Thank you. Noted for future reference. I have one more plane which I will post on here tonight, so future builds will have the wings puttied. Again, thank you for the advice.

Thank you so much for the comments, gentlemen! Happy to be of service! I look forward to seeing them!

Good afternoon, I present to you my rendition of UM's SU-85 tank destroyer, my first experience with link and length tracks (and not a bad one at that). Built OOB with only a turned metal gun barrel and Eureka XXL copper tow cable. I only did some light weathering as I got slightly bored of working on this one.

Good afternoon, I present to you my rendition of Airfix's Bf 109E-4. The only thing that I distinctly remember about this build was the pocket watch gear used for the trim wheel.

1/72 Dragon Sherman M4A3

Simply stunning! Easily mistaken for a larger scale! Well done! -
I totally agree! All those rivets and turrets make it so steampunk! With only the really expensive Accurate Armour resin kit available, a plastic kit would definitely be snapped up with Meng and Takom being easy choices, though I wouldn't rule out Hobby Boss.

DaMo Renault AM 1914 Armoured Car 1/35
Kuro Nezumi replied to Kuro Nezumi's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
On to the leather cushions: I started by applying two base coats of Citadel Mechrite Red. Followed by two coats of Citadel Scorched Brown. A coat of Citadel Nuln Oil shade then gave the seats a dulled look. The seats were finished off with a dry brushed mixture of Citadel Scorched Brown, Bestial Brown and Rakarth Flesh In between the coats of paint on the seats, I painted the small metal box with Citadel Boltgun Metal and Nuln Oil. I also painted the dashboard starting with two base coats of Citadel Calthan Brown and dry brushed with Scorched Brown. I couldn't find any pictures or references regarding the dashboard's colours, so I made it up. The non-wooden parts were base coated with Citadel Abaddon Black the coloured with Citadel Chainmail and Mr. Metal Color Brass. And finally, the all important coat of Nuln Oil.- 20 replies

Thank you! I find wood one of the most satisfying things to paint. I have a 1/48 Lloyd C.V in the stash, so that will be fun!- 20 replies

DaMo Renault AM 1914 Armoured Car 1/35
Kuro Nezumi replied to Kuro Nezumi's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
An overdue update, my apologies. I decided to paint the wooden boxes. First a base coat of Tamiya Buff: Followed by a coat of Winsor & Newton Van Dyke Brown oil paint: The oil paint took around 4 days to dry. In that time, I very intelligently picked up an oven tray fresh out the oven without any protection, so modelling was limited. Once the paint had dried (and my fingers recovered), the metal parts of the boxes were painted with Citadel Boltgun Metal: Finally, a coat of Citadel Nuln Oil shade (an invaluable wash) completed the job: All together:- 20 replies

Hopefully, these (along with the recent Danton-class) will be the first of many. I really want a German pre-dreadnought and/or a Habsburg-class!- 27 replies

First batch primed! The photo quality isn't as good as the previous ones because I used the kitchen light on white paper as an experiment on different lighting while I wait for my new lamps to arrive from Ikea. I'll use my regular lighting next time.- 20 replies

1/72 - Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa (new tool) by Revell - released
Kuro Nezumi replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Would it be too hard for Revell to create a Mk.XII from the Mk.V fuselage with alterations to the cowling? The first batch of Mk.XII's were built on the Mk.Vc airframe.- 228 replies

DaMo Renault AM 1914 Armoured Car 1/35
Kuro Nezumi replied to Kuro Nezumi's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
The wheel arches are done! Trying to get the correct alignment of the struts was a real pain! The next step is priming, at last! Due to the large number of parts I'll be priming the car in batches, and other parts - such as the armour plates - will be primed in two sessions. The first batch will include: Crates and cushions Spare wheel, controls (minus steering wheel), machine gun pedestal, horn and a shield, though I don't know the name of the piece it protects Exhaust pipe and muffler, seat, armour plate, lamp, dashboard, head lamps, steering wheel and the piece that afore mentioned shield protects (any help here will be much appreciated) And finally the Hotchkiss machine gun, its aiming wheel thing, and some of the photo-etch (I'm leaving the gun shield off). My primer of choice will be Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black. I'll prime these on Saturday.- 20 replies
