  1. Try Winsor & Newton flow improver. It should eliminate the brush strokes.
  2. WOW!! She's magnificent!! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your builds!
  3. Standard white spirit works fine. I thinned Humbrol matt black with it and it sprayed beautifully.
  4. Thin them with white spirit so that they drip from the stirring thing one drop per second. You should get good results. I thin all my paints with this technique.
  5. Excellent work! Brilliant NMF! I'm currently working on one with the rockets. Should be ready by next week.
  6. A single-action has a screw-like attachment at the back to control the spray area size. A double-action uses the moveable trigger to control the paint, making it easier to use in my opinion. I find that a single-action is best suited for fine detail work since you don't have to worry about slipping the trigger and ruining the paintwork, while my double-action is more of a general purpose airbrush. I agree with hgbn, start with a good double-action airbrush. The Iwata Neo Revolution is supposed to be a very good gerenal purpose airbrush.
  7. If using Humbrol (or any acrylic), use a primer (Halfords grey primer works superbly). Adding a drop of Winsor and Newton flow improver should eliminate brush strokes and makes the paint easier to use. Hope this helps.
  8. Just checked the Wingnut Wings website and found a new Roland D.VIb on there. Another surprise like the Dh.9, perhaps? http://wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3107
  9. Beautifully detailled engine! Very nice!
  10. To call this thinner and cleaner very handy things to have seems to be a massive understatement. Must get some of the this!
  11. Mr Metal Color aluminium can be polished to a very high shine, plus it can be both brushed and airbrushed. But it needs a REALLY smooth surface such as bare plastic and it can't be touched once finished with - you'll get powder all over your fingers.
  12. Not sure about water, but if you have any Vallejo airbrush thinner, I'd recommend that as it gives the matt varnish an amazing finish when sprayed of a gloss surface.
  13. Fantastically detailed! Well done! How does the Armycast cockpit fit?
  14. Amazing model! She looks HUGE!!
  15. Incredible work! Can't wait to see the other photos!
  16. Eduard have a DH.2 with photo-etch and masks. Finding it is a bit of a chore, though.
  17. This could be the start of a boom for WW1 kits. I wonder if Master Box will make a new tool A7V and all the other WW1 tanks.
