Essentially recreating what happens on a real plane when the engine's on. Airflow + a mud and water mix = lovely big mess behind the wheels and engine!

I believe CSM are going to release a limited edition version with a resin engine and metal exhausts like their Dolphin.

DaMo Renault AM 1914 Armoured Car 1/35

Another update. Photo-etch pieces attached to the armour plates, steering mechanism made up and a box's handle. The steering mechanism now attached to the chassis, along with a few other built up parts. I soon realized that the two cylinders glued to the pivot points on the ends of the axle were in the wrong place, so after a very tense removal procedure they have been glued slightly further in on the axle. Tomorrow, I'll work on the photo-etch wheel arches.- 20 replies

Good morning. A friend has asked me to find some images of the engine that powered the Hotchkiss-Izhorsky armoured car. The problem is that only two were built, thus making any info scarce. They were built on a Hotchkiss chassis, which one I don't know. So would anyone know of the most likely engine that would have been used in these vehicles? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Part of the transmission is built along the Hotchkiss machine gun pedestal. The more of this kit I build, the more fun I find in the scratch-building!- 20 replies

Thank you for the support! I can never get along with Beer and the others in the Alcoholic Army (their personalities are too bitter for me), I find Sir Cup of Tea is more my... err... cup of tea. I appreciate the advice, though. Here is the latest progress report: Some small parts are glued on to the doors and cowling, headlamps and steering wheel made, and brass pieces made from the rod supplied. The biggest issue so far is figuring out what to put together or what to paint then put together. This will be a long, hard campaign filled with blood, sweat, tears and cyanoacrylate adhesive.- 20 replies

I'll post some more reconnaissance photos later. While the resin and scratch-building from the brass rods are putting up stiff resistance, it is their commander-in-chief, the Great Cryptic Instructions, that are proving to be a formidable enemy.- 20 replies

Good afternoon. This is my first ever WIP post! And it will be about this thing!: The Renault AM 1914 armoured car of which its history can be found here. The kit is a resin kit from danmodels and comes in a sturdy cardboard box containing some 106 (or there abouts) well-cast resin parts, 16 PE parts and some brass rods of 2 different diameters. There are a few issues with the casting but as this is (I believe to be) the first kit from danmodels, I can safely say that the kit looks great. The parts: The photo was taken before I declared war on the excess resin, a long and hard fought war in which I emerged victorious! Wish me luck!

Good afternoon. My first RFI for a while: Airfix's 1/72 Boulton Paul Defiant. I finished this one sometime last year and I'm finally putting her on here. Painted with Tamiya flat black for the main colour, Vallejo steel for the base coat and a mix of Vallejo zinc chromate green for the primer, using Shuttleworth's - then unpainted - Spitfire Mk.Vc as a reference. Built OOB except the harnesses from spares and the Master gun barrels. Weathered with powdered chalk pastel. Enjoy!

1/32 decals for Spad XIII's...Anyone know of any?
Kuro Nezumi replied to Beardie's topic in Aircraft WWI
If you have a printer-scanner, you could scan in a decal sheet from a smaller scale and blown it up to 1/32, or simply make your own markings with plain decal paper then source some roundels. Would this be of any use? -
