  1. The twin seater Typhoon is definitely the uglier version if you ask me, the hump looks rather ungainly to my eyes! There seems to have been quite a bit of Typhoon swapping between squadrons lately, with jets being passed from one unit to another...will be interested to see what the final 'mix' of jets amongst the squadrons is once they receive a full complement of aircraft! I always thought it would make sense to give 29sqn (the OCU/training unit) mostly twin seaters, 17 a mix, and then 3 and 11 could have mostly singles and maybe one or two twin tubs....
  2. Always a part of the model that fills me with thread, owing to the potential for breakage and making a mess of things if its wonky, yet one part thats vital to the overall model looking correct! My method is somewhat wasteful - I use the metal tube/needle from revell's little contacta glue dispensers, cut to an appropriate length. Looks nice, is strong, but leaves me with numerous little cement dispensers without the applicator needle all over the place :whistling: What do you folks use?
  3. This model was the one which first prompted me to start modelling again after a few years without touching a single kit, after I saw photos of it Skii posted on another forum (overclockers.co.uk), so for that Skii, I thank you! Such a shame it ended up as KIA though do you plan to build a replacement at any point? Recall mention of a 1/32 attempt in 2 squadron markings...
  4. Going against the grain somewhat, but in my opinion, the single seater usually looks better! Especially true in the case of the Typhoon and F-16 - both look ungainly and somewhat humpbacked in twin stick form, especially the Tiffy. Two seat Harriers as well, all ugly as sin - appealing and interesting regardless, but bloody ungainly all the same! Single Seater looks best: Typhoon F-16 Viggen F-15 Any Harrier Anything Russian (see MiG-25U for an interesting looking if bloody odd machine) Classical Brit stuff (Hunter, Lightning, abominations looks wise in twin stick form IMHO compared to the sleek and brutal single seaters respectively) Twin seater looks best: Gripen Jag Hawk (Hawk 200 looks very awkward compared to the smooth lines of the pre-100 series Hawks) However whilst I say this, the twin seat ones I've listed as being ugly are still subjects I'd like to model - ugly can be appealing when it comes to (plastic) models, see the A-10 and Apache as proof
