There are two engine blocks in the kit, I don't know if either is right for a 351, to be honest the  one that the instructions has you buid isn't great, so that permanently shut bonnet sounds like a good idea!

It's your decision but I think you should make it possible to view the engine. Even if it is not 100% accurate I am willing to bet most people won't know.

  2. Not my favorite Mustang but figured I will never build it unless I do it now for this GB.

Considering what I payed for this I expected a very simple kit but it looks quite detailed and the parts look nice to me not much flash.

The plan is to paint it light blue with black rims.

In order to have a reasonable chance of completing this before the dead line I will not do any customizations.

  3. Some more I bought last month.

Plan on getting one Impala for each year between 58-67 then hopefully display them together one day. But I have a feeling they will stay in the box until my retirement in +30 years...Right now I have 59-60 and 64-66. If anyone knows where to get Revell's 58 at a reasonable price please let me know. Found one on eBay but it is 50 EUR shipped and I am not that desperate yet.

I would suggest either a Tamiya or Revell Mini Cooper for the Sprite engine. If the kit has a 'dummy engine' panel with sump and bottom of gearbox, you could combine that with the A series from the Mini.

Problem is, the price of the Mini Cooper kits 😲

    All the best, Steve.

Thank you for the suggestion. Yeah the price is crazy nowadays, I bought the Tamiya Mini Cooper kit on eBay in 2012 for almost nothing (unfortunately I have built it now)...

  5. Wanted the Jaguar but since the shipping fee was the same no matter how many kits I bought I got three more.

Already have the Austin Healey but I've been thinking about making the bonnet open and finding a suitable engine, now I have a spare if I mess it up.

Fujimi makes a nice Daytona but have not found one at a price I like so I settled for the Italeri one instead. Planning on picking up the Coupé at some point too.

I have the "standard" Mercedes-Benz 500 SL from Fujimi and a lot of the parts are the same in this Koenig version. No real Mercedes fan but I think this one looks really good especially without the roof. Shame there is no engine.

Not that I need to buy any more, but is there a run down anywhere on which of the Fujimi Porsches have engines and which are (ick) "curbside"?   There are so many versions and prices are all over the place, so it leaves me mightily confused.

Pretty sure all enthusiast kits have an engine. I usually double check with https://www.1999.co.jp/ they show the parts/instructions for a lot of Fujimi kits.

It was the body colour that attracted me to the kit tbh and the fact that I have some zero paints Porsche orange sealed the deal. However definitely not a cream interior this one will be black as I think it will look better 😉 👍. This is going to start my American Muscle Car collection although it may be next year before I can buy any more kits 🙄

I have had an orange one with black interior in the works for years, maybe I will finish it one day. :)
