  1. Thanks for the tips. I need to ‘stay solid’ now as I have already cut the canopy. Thorfinn...do you have a specific colour in mind? Maybe that you’ve used before? I’m thinking a silvery light blue with perhaps some white highlights to mimic reflection?!
  2. Hello everyone, I'm currently building a Diamond DA42 in CTC (now L3) Aviation flying school colours. I’m using the only kit I could find which is Sova’s DA42 “Dominator” drone. It’s a cracking little kit from Ukraine which actually does have an interior despite only coming with a solid grey plastic canopy. I have cut the canopy up to model how the real thing opens and show the seats/instruments but now I’m looking for: tips and tricks on how to create a glass effect using paints and varnishes etc. Colours? Highlights? Varnish? Liquid glass? I have seen some airbrushing techniques but I don’t own one! Thanks in advance.... https://www.diamondaircraft.com/en/flight-school-solution/aircraft/da42/overview/
  3. Hello everyone, I was recently hunting for a Diamond DA20 model and stumbled across this paper version by P-Plane Japan. It was very fiddly and a bit different to what we are used to but I'm happy with the final product. Only regular paper and PVA glue was used in the build apart from a penny in the nose for ballast and a small piece of wire to give the main gear strength. It's a bit rough round the edges but just a bit of fun!! It is crudely finished in CTC Aviation colours and the reg. is from my first training flight in New Zealand. Next up will be a DA42 also in CTC colours (already bought from SOVA in UAV guise), then an easyJet A320 (nearly finished) and finally (?) a BA 787 later this year.
  4. Hi All, I have just purchased this DA42 model and was surprised to find it comes with cockpit detail despite lacking a clear canopy part. Also, other parts such as smaller horizontal stabilizer tips and standard nose cones are included. This is excellent as I am making a standard DA42 that I flew in with CTC Aviation (now L3). Can anyone fabricate a clear canopy? Or maybe suggest a work around? All the best, Dan
  5. i think this is the best model i have seen on here! well done indeed! the pilot looking up is a great touch!
