  1. Guys can anybody recommend a paint colour for Chistine? Autumn Red says the instructions but specific paint name and number would be great!
  2. Pretty much the same myself mate, rural area where I am so its mail order or invent what I need toolwise lol.
  3. Hey Chris, thanks for the info, what be that beast called, an see if I can get one.
  4. Dude that looks great! Usually dont bother with bother with them even though I know they are there, not huge into mega detail as i mainly build for me, but that really does look proper nice!
  5. Thats one nice Hurrican man, well built and painted! Thanks for the link to view her. This kit goes together well, only issue was the step in the leading edge of the wing near the wing root. Took some sanding did that.
  6. Yes your correct, these were taken from my old line storage and i think its buggered the res. Will shoot some more if intetested?
  7. Top job man, love it. Have one stashed too, looks like a nice kit to knock up.
  8. A recent completion here is this old tool Airfix kit. Needs some work as from what I remember the fuselage halves are not exactly equal length. i went for lining the engine housing up and adjusted the tail. A gappy fit needed some filler along the fuselage seam. The cockpit opening is actually too wide for the canopy to sit properly so i padded the sides of the hole out with sprue shavings so fit. Painted in Humbrol gloss enamel by brush as it was the only colour I had that came near, she was glossed with Johnson's, decals added then gloss and Newton and Winsor to mat down then weathered with enamels, pastels and one Vallejo colour. Using more guess work than research, mainly because I couldn't be bothered LOL, I took it upon myself to assume the wings were metal hence the weathering, if they were fabric then, oh well 😂😂. The decals came with the kit and went on lovey with solutions to aid setting The black strips either side of the cockpit were taken from some 1:48 scale invasion stripes from Academy.
  9. Lol yeah blame the instructions for that, utter pants! Only realised what I had done a few weeka later too.
  10. Never has there been a kit that has near hit the bin more times than this. It's survived more temper fits than my old Land Rover ever dreamed possible. Simply, nothing fits, everything simply does not fit to the things they are supposed to fit too without major foul language and surgery. The instructions are horrid and lend to making mistakes such as the landing gear covers being in the wrong place (a mistake only noticed after a few weeks of completing it) and other things such as decal placement. A dog of a kit that was painted in Vallejo Air, glossed in Johnsons klear, Gunze setter and softer was used on the INCREDIBLY fragile decals and then covered in Winsor and Newton matt coat.
  11. Hi man, yes it was a great little kit to be honest, had fun with it. I have the 1:48 Tamiya in the stash to have a go at at some point.
  12. 1:72 Hurricane new tool from Airfix. A fun little build this, one area that needs attention is the is where the upper and lower fuselage fit together on the leading edge if the wing, there seems to be quite a step there. Anyway, painted with Vallejo Air and weathered with oil and pastels, decals fixed with Gunze setter and softer and matt coat of Newton and Winsor.
  13. Hi folks, been four years since my last post so here goes with one I finished last year. This is the 1:72 Matchbox Brewster Buffalo bought for a few pound from eBay and sat on the shelf of doom for a few years until I made a concerted effort last year to finish unfinished projects. A fun and basic wee build, it fit together well enough with a little filler here and there. Painted in my own made up colour scheme as I decided to have some fun with it in the end. The original kit decals were not in the best of shape but by jove they went on magnificently with setter and softer.
  14. Tasso, hi! it was a bugger to build no doubt but it looks good with care and time. Would be very pleased to see your take on it in time.
  15. Hi guys, silly question but would this aircraft have had "XM968" as markings under the wings?
  16. Beautiful job mate, i have one in the stash, picked it up from the Airfix last chance deals for £3.99 i think it was. Always possible to turn an old tool into a new one with elbow grease. Cracking job.
  17. Have three of these in the stash to make and just ordered a lighting kit for one to test out. The new MK I is awesome, a kit that is a must have. You done and extremely tidy job here, great matt finish and the decals worked well in the end.
  18. Stunning work mate, really excellnt stuff.
  19. Great job on this one, can be a hard kit to pull off because of the skin tones, had trouble with that model, the old Halcyon kit. Nice one.
  20. Mate that is one awesome Destroyer. I know my Star Wars Vintage kits inside out and this is a mega wonderful finished kit. Can't fault it, what you have done here with a dog of an old kit is great.
