I have a small business and desperately needed a 'pastime' that stopped me thinking about work. Visited the Battle of Britain Memorial whilst on a business trip to Kent and they had a show on with the Airfix crew holding a 'Project Airfix' event. I thought "I remember enjoying doing that when I was a teenager". And the rest, as they say, is history.

WWII for me, plus a few weird additions like TSR2 (you have to, just for the memory), accompanying Lightning and a 50 year celebration tornado to go with the Dambuster.

I enjoy building the most kits. I like them to be 'models' so I always follow the camouflage as closely as I can, but that's it. I don't fret over aerials, exact colours etc and agree with Darby that we should encourage others to join the hobby, just for the fun of it.
