  1. Nether its PX24 similar to WD40 the two F6's at Bruntingthorpe main u/c bays are the same.
  2. Dont forget the F3.F6 and the T5's cockpit colours were different the early marks and the T4's all had a black cockpit.
  3. No its not. i seam to remember some F3's having the weights in the nose u/c bay but cant for the life in me remember why. I'm wondering if it to simulate the weight characteristics of the F6. LTF had only 1 F6 a good few F3's and T'5 too. The Lunenburg Lens was fitting to the port missile on some of the LTF jets funny looking thing too.
  4. Control surfaces are different too, namely ailerons. Also the navigation lights are different. F3/T5's were like a notch on the Leading edge the F6 was a bulbus moulding on the very tip.
  5. retro markings for the Sqn impending disbandment.
  6. The Lightning fleet was used as an experiment for the Typhoon grey schemes hence the various colours tried out.
  7. I was on the Sqn when she came back from Wales after repaint And I remember out flight Sergeant commenting on the Weapons pack replacement that was due shortly. this can be seen in the instructions sheet and NMF.
  8. 770 was the first grey Lightning, im sure the fin was the same colour as the undersides. She was the subject of a Modeldecal sheet (possible No 70). My profile pic is actually XR770 were sat on.
  9. Pilots flew what was available, the names on the jet was just a nice touch. No jet was assigned to a single pilot.
  10. The ring around the rear fuselage/reheat pipes are the same as the intake duct/ring.
  11. We had the A10 - warthog aka "The Tankbuster" F22 - Raptor could it be aka "The Balloonbuster"
  12. Hi John Halfords grey primer is good too. Their "Appliance white" is a good gloss white too.
  13. I bought the Aventador and vowed I'd never buy another Pocher kit for the very same reason mentioned here..... Looking at the F40 and earlier kits they were far far better detail wise.
  14. Looking at Youtube there's a video of the 2023 Tamiya catalogue page by page and there's a 1:32 scale Tornado GR4 with crew on there. here
  15. The biggest thing the fades then is sunlight !!

    Airfix 2024

    1/24 scale Lancaster.
  17. How's it going to fade its on the underside ?
  18. As the BL755 carried bomblets and just like JP233 on Tornado its now outlawed under the cluster weapons convention. Here.
  19. I doubt that BL755 were designed to be tossed they were designed to be used on soft targets ie troop in the open convoys etc etc. The bomb that was used for these "nuance toss bombing" was the 1000 pounder. I think the smaller tanks were used on combat missions too. Have a read of Harrier 809 by Roland White might give you an idea of mission profiles used
  20. I Know Ian was on 11F Sqn. I was groundcrew on 5F I've got all three of his Lightning plus a few of his other works too.
  21. If you move on the the F3 F6 and T5 marks these have some cracking Lightning pics in them. Ex F4 nav/Lightining/tornadoF3/Mirage and airbus pilot.
  22. The Morgan three wheeler has been around in one guise or another since 1911. See here
  23. The Morgan would be a bit faster than the A10 tho.
