  1. Wings are done and attached. Drilled out the exhaust ports and adding exhaust stains. Last piece is the main rotor which I test fitted. Plus the model is not a tail sitter. But not by much.
  2. Having to build and paint this kit in sections because of its weird shape. Next I will work on the tail section.
  3. I think it is the same plane. I found a post on internet saying Hyakushiki Shitei III means "Type (One) Hundred Com(mand) Recon(naissance)(Plane)(Model)III Mod(ified)."
  4. My first 1/48 kit. I mainly work in 1/72 scale but was challenged by my fellow club members to build a kit larger than 1/72 and a kit than was not 50 years old.
  5. The only thing I added was navigation lights on the nose and on the top. I used glitter and 5 min epoxy glue. There was a lot of filler used to fill in the sink holes.
  6. Normal flat blue from tamiya but slightly lighten with white. Ratio 10 drops blue to 2 drops white. I use eye dropper bottles with thinned paint hence I can control amount of paint I put in my airbrush.
  7. Funny how Matchbox tooled alot of uncommon subjects like this one. They were greats kits. Then revell bought all of molds so this is a reissue of the matchbox kit with just some new decals.
  8. Wow. Talking about déjà vu. For a min I though this was one if my models. You did excellent job. Did you have issues with the decals like me?
  9. This is the model James May from Top Gear had made into a full size kit for the Airfix episode for Toy Stories TV series.
  10. Those are the original decals. Vendor had several copies of this kit so I picked out the one that had the best copy. They were not yellowed. Kit was original bought at army PX in Germany. Had the AAFES price tag of $1.50 stil on it. Bought it from the vendor for $4.00.
  11. Love it. Have same kit in my stash. Looking forward to working on it.
  12. Yes the wing tips did fold up and had huge hinges. I filled them in.
  13. I scanned in the original decals at 2400 dpi (highest resolution I had) into Adobe Photo Elements 11. I then brighten up the colors and removed background color do I would have a white background. Then I printed two sets if decals. One on clear sheet and the other on white. I cut out any decal with white in it from the white decal sheet and the others from the clear version.
