I Fully agree with you quality costs more, the research and the background work is what costs the money. The actual production does not really change if you have a bad mould or a good mould, talking accuracy wise, and the basic material to produce the same part or kit is the same once again good or bad. The costs are definitely in the research and the attention to details, ask me as I know a little about this game. I am no super guru or a large manufacturer, or esteemed but after doing the process for 20 years from my very first point to now I have learnt an awful lot, and unfortunately many folk have no idea what is really involved.

Excellent work Bjorn. I admire you for tacking some tricky carving and sanding, but it looks like you are doing a good job. It is such a pity that these features are all wrong. Even with your fixes that make a huge improvement the intake area catches my eye, but I know that would be very difficult or impossible to correct symetrically. At least your improvements will make it look more like a ‘slim’ Vampire rather than one that has just got up from eating a feast. Look forward to seeing further progress and completed model.

Ben I could not agree with you more. It is best just to have a COMPLETE kit, to try and make cast or printed parts fit for either the Airfix or the PR kits just gets to complicated and not cost effective. I have been watching the thread and I too am disappointed in the outcome of this new kit.

More project and prototype full kits are in the works and being planned. Some will be done in larger scales as well, typically 1/48, a few smaller aircraft possibly 1/32, so more scales to make more modellers happy.

Well you know what to do. Get hold of me and let me know. If you cannot manipulate it with a little warm water to a satisfactory fit. I stand by my products if there are issues. Just make me the first port of call, that would be appreciated.

You got a picture or two of the failures, what are the main canopies like, or is it mainly the screens?

So what’s it to be what shade of yellow / orange are we going to go for and I wonder about the purple one as well, we can all have a good close guess but I doubt anyone will bring out the exact Pantone colour or doubt we will find the exact colour matches in the BS paint references? I hope to have my kit soon, then I can peruse the seat / cockpit and the colours.

Aerocraft Models has a new full kit in two scales and two decal alternatives. FAIREY Tactical Strike Aircraft GOR.339 PROJECT 75. The kit is fully designed in CAD and fully 3D printed, it contains a total of 57 parts, 56 are printed resin and the canopy is cast in clear resin. There is an option to either choose ‘Lo Viz’ OR ‘Hi Viz’ decals. The kit is produced in both 1/144 scale and 1/72 scales each scale has the same number of parts and the kits are identical other than the size. This was to be a huge aircraft to deliver the Red Beard nuclear weapon, two of them are included to be fitted to the weapons bay. The kit has been drawn, developed over the last few months by Chad Summers and myself. We were given a huge amount of information and help by Joe Warner Cherrie, who has a wealth of information and knowledge on PAPER / PROTOTYPE / WHAT-IF subjects. Thanks to Chad and Joe, I am now able to offer these kits. Well it is something to look out for some of those countries may have interesting markings, it will be interesting to see if Eduard dig any up for a future box release?

You got any details on these Cuban, East German, Egyptian, Iraqi, Yemeni and Mozambique markings, I have tried a few searches but did not find any, I am sure they are out there but I have found them, links or a few pictures would be great.

Just a short note here, to say and make my customers aware that I have taken the decision NOT to attend the show. I took the decision a few weeks ago and notified the organisers. It was a difficult decision to make but in many ways I am glad that I did. The stress of keeping the orders rolling and trying to develop and release new sets in conjunction of trying to prepare for the show, all single handed was placing me under extreme pressure and stress, something that I am trying to avoid. I am hoping now that this is clearing the way for me to bring out some of the long promised projects that I keep putting off and letting many of you down on. Not all may happen that fast , but I am certainly trying to work through them as best as I can. Added to this there are some fantastic new unannounced projects that are being worked on. Here are the some of the projects that have been long promised, that I am still hoping to finish off as soon as I am able to. 1/24 scale Hellcat conversion for the Airix kit, to back date it to the -3, this will happen as I have had decal sheets printed and laying waiting for 2 years…… how bad is that. 1/32 scale engine and canopy upgrades for the Revell Beaufighter 1/32 A-7 Corsair stuff even though Reskit have announced and already are being out bits and pieces, I hope to still produce a few sets. Added to this still hope to add more parts to sets for 1/32 Phantoms and BAC Lightnings. There are many more sets and ideas that are in the background across scales so there will be new items across the main aircraft scales but there could be some surprises even down to 1/144 scale . As many you would have seen from some of the new products Chad Summers (Flying S Models) is supporting and helping me to develop brand new products. (thanks Chad) I have already launched some of his products and although some are quite unique and more esoteric, they are being well received, and we are only pleased enough to bring more unusual sets to the modellers. However Chad and I are working on a couple of brand new full kit ideas, the one is fairly well progressed, and this will be made announced in the next month or so.
