  1. Absolutely fantastic shots Radleigh!
  2. Hi, Photo's are now up from the display!
  3. Hi, Thanks for the comments, I'm slowly getting through the photo's but with other commitments i.e Football photography/wellington build it still make take a little while before the rest are up. Was after the F-16 photo's last year but with the 28-300mm lens the photo's didn't turn out properly.

  5. After a bit of a break, work on the Wellington continues

  6. Not much of an update really, but decided to test the £40 airbrush & compressor out properly today, so mixed up Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth for the top of the fuselage & Tamiya xf-85 with a dash of Tamiya XF-1 Flat black for the underside and I think I'm onto a winner so far with the mix, just need to sort out the curve towards the back of the fueslage and sort out a bit of overspray but here's the latest progress: 20150420_151023 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr 20150420_151102 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr 20150420_151246 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr20150420_151357 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr 20150420_152620 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Thanks for Looking!
  7. Will be following this, have to say the Alien & Predator movies are some of my all time fav's, and the Terminator series coming in a close third!
  8. Thanks for your comments, I decided as I was waiting for a game to update via Origin to have a little play about with weathering the U/C Legs & the Wheels, using a £1.99 watercolour set from B&M & the modelmates Soot Black. Mixed the Black/Grey/Brown together till it looked slightly like mud & added a dab of soot black to the mixture, and gently dabbed with a cotton bud till almost touch dry then using the mk.1 pinky smudged them together till it looked Dirtied enough for my taste. Thanks for the heads up on this, really came in handy trying this tonight! That's all for tonight I think Thanks for Looking!
  9. Little update: Have now finished the panel with the photoetch parts, although when I opened the interior etch I noticed that there was a part missing! but apart from that here's the current progress: IMG_8723 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_8722 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_8718 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Thanks for Looking!
  10. That moment when you've just opened the photo-etch packet, and started to add the photo-etch parts to the cockpit, and you notice there's a part missing....

Hi Mike, its Eduard etch, for the Trumpeter Wimpy

  11. Great set of shots, like the shot of the Italian A200 with the reversers deployed though!
  12. Hi, I picked up a small bottle of Modelmates Soot Black weathering liquid today, so once I've attached the photo etch parts to the gear legs I'll be experimenting with that on them
  13. Hello! Although the going is slow, I've sprayed the wheels with Humbrol 11 Silver and assembled both the main U/C and the tail U/C and wether it's worth spraying the white metal U/C legs with the same silver or leaving them as they are. IMG_7620 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Trying to decide now so I can have it in ready which type off "Matt" cote to finish the kit in. Thanks for Looking!
  14. Hi, With recently only using the camera now and again, I decided to take a trip to Liverpool a few weeks ago for a Morning/Afternoon of take photo's down on Dungeon Lane, usually you will see the likes of Ryanair's & Easyjets but now and again something unusual comes in like the French Naval Falcon and the Cessna C-165 Airmaster: Dassault Falcon 129 10MER-2 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Cessna C-165 Airmaster G-BTDE by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Dassault Falcon 7X VP-CUH by J.R.Photo, on Flickr As well as visiting the airport when I can, I've also re-started to take some Football photo's again for a local club near me hence the reason for posting in this section, so here's a couple from Barnton FC's past few games:Afc Darwen IMG_5248 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_5368 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Atherton Laburnum Rovers IMG_6052 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_6299 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Holker Old Boy's IMG_6644 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_6839 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Cheadle Town IMG_7392 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr IMG_7497 by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Thanks for Looking!
  15. Hi Adrian, From what I can gather its either going to go on display in the shop or at home in his office. That being said after looking at the aftermarket bits for it and the instructions for them, its looking like this could be major uncharted teritory for me build wise!
  16. Not much has been done on this in all honesty as I've been waiting for these to arrive! Eduard Vickers Wellington Mk.IC/Mk.III exterior Eduard Vickers Wellington Mk.III cockpit interior welly by J.R.Photo, on Flickr Hopefully will now be able to crack on at a decent pace with the build as its the first use of Photoetch for me! Thanks for Looking!
  17. Hi, Sorry for the lack of updates, the kits seem to be falling together much quicker than I anticipated, and together with getting back into Football photography again and going out from 7am - 4pm jobhunting hasn't left me with much time to do as much as I'd like on the kits. I've also started to use Humbrol Model Filler instead of Milliput, as you will be able to tell on the Jaguar and also the nose of the Tomcat. Academy F-14: At the moment this is still in the "brown" stage (makes it a bugger to photograph though) but have now filled the gaps on the underside and also the front nose section's has been filled & sanded. I've also attached the rear section, which has the inlet's attached and also the inlet blades which can't be seen due to the inlets. Decided to see how it looks though when the two sections are together and even in 1/100 scale its not a bad size at all, will either be using the stand or having it sat next to the "Bear": Jaguar: I've attached the nozzles at the rear of the aircraft and with a hairy brush applied some Tamiya X-10 Gunmetal to the sections which it require, as well as prior to this a light coating of Tamiya XF-83. I've also attached the nose section as can be seen below, need to do a bit of filling where the join is but that's a quick job for tomorrow: Also a quick shot of the wing attached: Thanks for Looking
  18. I'm using Tamiya paints at the moment, although the brown "Pebble" spray on the F-14 was from a humbrol can. So far the paint I've used is a lightened XF-83 as a primer as the one I usually use stinks to high heaven when its been sprayed (from the local pound stores), If I do the Gulf War scheme then it'll be 1 Part Tamiya X-17 Pink with 4/5 parts Tamiya XF-57 Buff. I realised this when I'd just glued the rear fuselage sections together, luckily I could pop one side out and carefully managed to shave the tab off completely so the fit was much better. Hopefully have more of an update tomorrow as I'm hopefully going to build up the landing gear & front sections
  19. Little bit of an update on this: I'll start with the F-14 first.. So far I've built up the front section of the kit, sadly no in progress shots of the pit but its bascially made up of five parts, two seats, two headrests & the base which I have sprayed a satin black for the time being, and sprayed a dash of humbrol 29 as there wasn't much left in the tin, this will be sanded down before the first coat of Medium Sea Grey is added to the top & wings, and also added the Intakes on the bottom half of the aircraft. Jaguar wise, I've attached the Fuselage sections together as per the instructions, and also added the intakes which the internal parts have been sprayed in a Light Sea Grey, and will tomorrow hopefully be sprayed in a medium sea grey. I know its not much of an update at this present moment, but with having a bit of a hectic weekend its the most I could do. Quick question though, with the airbrush I have (even though its a cheap one) would it be best to get a 0.2mm Needle & nozzle to do the finer details, or crack on with the 0.3mm which is in it already?
  20. Hello, With the arrival of the airbrush and compressor yesterday I've decided to take the plunge and build two kits at the same time. the two kits I'm building are the 1/100 Academy F-14 and the reboxed Italeri/Tamiya Jaguar GR-1, here is the usual box shots for the moment. Box Shot of both kits: Academy 1/100 F-14 Tomcat: Stand for the Tomcat: Sprue A: Sprue B: Tamiya/Italeri Jaguar GR-1: Sprue A: Sprue B: The Tomcat is going to be finished in White, and at the moment I'm unsure about the Jaguar, its either going to be in the Gulf War Colours or the Grey/Green scheme which it can also be built in! Thanks for Looking.
  21. Quite like this little airbrush kit a lot!

  22. Off to a brilliant start there, think this will give me the proverbial kick up the backside to get my 916 finished!
  23. Great shots Rick, I missed this exact aircraft the other week when it did a ILS approach at Liverpool!
  24. Here's a couple of updates rolled into one: I've had to strip the paint due to some glazing after spraying so at the moment I'm waiting for a clear day before I re-spray the body work here's the first update though: Drivers Seat, Hand Brake & Peddles in place: Engine shot 1: Engine shot 2: Update 2: Engine, Cockpit, & front/rear suspension in place: Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have the shell painted in a Bare Metal Scheme or something completely different!
