  1. Looks like 2016 is going to be a very very busy year, not just with work, Photography & finishing off models, but returning to Shotokan Karate again in Liverpool!

  2. Hi Col, As far as I'm aware the only aftermarket part for the kit from scouring ebay etc are the Quickboost Exhausts, although on Hannants they do have the Canopy masks which I'm ordering on Wednesday for this kit. I think I'll be going entirely Straight Out The Box though, unless and its a big if I can get three small transparent parts and convert it into a 1/32 PR Mk.IV
  3. Hello, My first delving into the 1/32 kit range by any manufacturer, and it just so happens to be a kit I've been after for quite a while now: Box shots for the time being as I've just been and primed it in Ocean Grey ready for the start of this GB: 1 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 2 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 3 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 5 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 6 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 7 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr 8 Revell Mosquito by John Rooney, on Flickr Hopefully I'll be finishing it in the scheme of A-GB DZ360 from 105 Squadron.
  4. Hopefully I'm not to late to take part in this, currently debating one of these three though: 1/72 Hasegawa Harrier Gr. Mk.3 1/48 Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb 1/32 DeHavilland Mosquito Mk.IV
  5. Speaking to a guy who I'm building one for, he confirmed it was a mk III
  6. Hi Colin, Yep that is definitely a gear indicator on the tank, even though I know what gear I'm in, it does come in handy at times, esp when riding home late at night from a game.
  7. Hi, Finally had a chance to go and snap some photo's of the new bike this morning: IMG_4403 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4408 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4411 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4415 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4417 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4419 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4421 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4423 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4425 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4427 by John Rooney, on Flickr IMG_4430 by John Rooney, on Flickr Thanks for Looking!

Excellent. Sat at my desk, looking at my CBR6. Can't beat having a bike in the office...

  10. Been looking at this one for a while now, as the local model shop has this in stock... Perhaps one for one of the many possible futures!
  11. Hi, I used a superzoom for just over a year before I purchased the 120-400, the one I was using was the Sigma 28-300mm. Not a bad lens in all honesty just lacking the reach at the top end for airshows, couple of shots below at 28mm and 300mm 28mm IMG_7189 by John Rooney, on Flickr 300mm AAC AH-64D Apache 0 by John Rooney, on Flickr
  12. Quite a very large bump but also an update: After almost 6 months of this sitting in a safe place, due to various things i.e interviews, football, airshows and also a lost mojo this is where the Wimpy is currently up too. After fighting a loosing batle with the photoetch, I spoke to the guy I'm building this for and he said not to worry about adding it, but possibly save it if you do decide to poss do another one after this in the future, I've added the photo etch to the instrument panel & also some of the Navigator's equipment: instrument panel by John Rooney, on Flickr Nav Panel by John Rooney, on Flickr After painting the nav panel in the same brown as you'll see I've painted the interior in I found while browsing on a few sites that it differentiated between Brown & Grey, so out with the paint to touch it up with the Grey Mock up 1 by John Rooney, on Flickr mock up 2 by John Rooney, on Flickr While I was waiting for the paint to dry on a couple of parts I'd finished building the bomb bay & give this a light coat in a mix of Humbrol 11 & tamiya xf-16: mock up 3 by John Rooney, on Flickr Mock up 4 by John Rooney, on Flickr Also have spent a bit of time enlarging the small holes in which the exhaust collector pipes fit in to as originally they prove to be a major pain in the backside, these are now fixed into place and the prop can easily be removed at the moment: Engine by John Rooney, on Flickr Engine & prop by John Rooney, on Flickr And finally the interior with the mock up sections in place (mocked up of course). Mock up 5 by John Rooney, on Flickr Lets hope that the mojo stays where it is & I can finally crack on with this one. Thanks for Looking!
  13. Work on the Wellington has commenced again, in between editing photo's from Southport & the football ones

  14. Hi Mike, I'm nowhere near as qualified as some to answer this but here's my 2p.. With 1/60" shutter speed you would need a very steady hand while panning even with IS/OS/OIS etc, the way it was explained to me many years ago was if using for instance a 70-300mm lens, than if shooting at 300mm then the lowest you should theoretically go to is 1/320" and to try not to go below the focal length your shooting at. I personally find unless its something like the CV-22 Osprey, Chinook, Huey etc that 1/400" will get you great results on both propellor aircraft and helicopters. Hope this helps
  15. Hi, Although I'm nowhere near finished sorting the photo's out, here's a few from the show on the Saturday and a bonus shot from the Sunday too: 2 Lancaster RC Display by John Rooney, on Flickr 3 Stearman RC Display by John Rooney, on Flickr 5 Boeing HC4 Chinook ZD574 coded DB by John Rooney, on Flickr 8 Westland Sea King XV661 by John Rooney, on Flickr 12 The Blades by John Rooney, on Flickr 14 The Blades by John Rooney, on Flickr 21 WSK -PZL Mielec MIG-15 SBLim-2 by John Rooney, on Flickr 22 Avro Vulcan XH558 & Red Arrows by John Rooney, on Flickr 24 Avro Vulcan XH558 by John Rooney, on Flickr 28 Avro Vulcan XH558 by John Rooney, on Flickr 30 Westland Scout G-CIBW XT626 (arriving) by John Rooney, on Flickr 33 Tigers Free Fall Team by John Rooney, on Flickr Bonus from Sunday: 3 Vickers Wellington by John Rooney, on Flickr *update from the Saturday* RAF Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 ZK320 coded BR by John Rooney, on Flickr Hopefully more will get added over the coming days, as I've been rather busy with having 8-10 interviews since the airshow. Thanks for looking & Comments welcome John
  16. Thanks for posting Radleigh, Would like to see another line up like this at some point in the future!
  17. A couple had asked if they could let there little ones get to the fence which I didn't mind, it was the ones who turned up five or so minutes before and basically told you to get out the way before forcing in that ended up being the ones who caused the bruises! Even the security guard told them if they wanted to be at the front then they should have been there at 8:45am (gates opened)
  18. Great shots there, Really like the shots of the Scout with the Oil Rig behind! The weather was quite dull on the Sunday yep. R.e the Vulcan on Saturday, everyone was trying to barge to the front as soon as it was seen in the distance, due to being at the fence at the front I ended up with quite a few bruises on my legs/side from being kicked etc and barged with elbows!
  19. What an absolute cracking weekend at Southport, Vulcan stole the show in Sat, Mig/Meteor Formation + Biggin Hill Hurricane & Hanger 11 Spitfire today!

  20. Bring on the Southport Airshow this weekend! wonder how many cards I'll fill on both days

Yes, I've thought about doing that next time I go. I'm always on my own, so it was nice to have a guaranteed spot (my car) to return to for once, though, so I'll be weighing that up against the downside of spending hours on the road in spite of leaving an hour after the show ended.

  21. Hello, Was at a bike show yesterday which was held in Widnes, and after chatting to a couple of good friends I had an idea about taking a couple of photo's of the bikes with the Runcorn Bridge in the background and here's how they came out: The bikes first: Yamaha Wildstar/Roadstar, Tamiya do a 1/12 kit of this!
