  1. Ahhh yearly weekend away in Southport, 31 miles from home but hopefully a cracking airshow weekend!

  2. First attempt with resin tonight, fitting the Paragon Droptanks to a 1/72 mosquito (no build thread) seems to have gone pretty well I think!

  3. Seems when I post photo's of a build or WIP it always seems to stall, almost finished a wildcat (academy) and all seems to be going well without them!

personally I'm not keen on posting WIPs as they have the same effect on me. I feel too much pressure to produce something on a regular basis rather than just doing something when it suits me.

I know what you mean but I make a point of leaving it/them/anything 'til I feel enough like it

      See,s to help

No pressure then 'cos it's only me that misses them anyway :))

  4. 1/32 Mossie back on track, Wings/Nacelles finished at long last.

  5. I thought the Revell 1/144 TU-95 and TU-160 where big.... nothing compared to the 1/100 tu20 Plasticart model

I called in last week, it is literally 2 minutes from my house! They have the full range of Vallejo paints including the new metal colours. If I hadn't spilt half my dinner down my shirt I would call in again on the way home..... :-)

I'm due to be calling in there again soon, mainly for the Vallejo paints, although a bit further than 2 mins for me, after crossing the bridge!

Do you go into the Widnes Model Centre at all?

  8. Works been taking its toll on kit building time, hence no updates with the Mossie or Wellington... although trying to get a few hours each night put to oneside now

  9. Looks like 2016 is going to be a very very busy year, not just with work, Photography & finishing off models, but returning to Shotokan Karate again in Liverpool!

  10. CBT successfully completed, now just the bike to purchase and away i go!

  13. What an absolute cracking weekend at Southport, Vulcan stole the show in Sat, Mig/Meteor Formation + Biggin Hill Hurricane & Hanger 11 Spitfire today!

Yes, I've thought about doing that next time I go. I'm always on my own, so it was nice to have a guaranteed spot (my car) to return to for once, though, so I'll be weighing that up against the downside of spending hours on the road in spite of leaving an hour after the show ended.

I think it'll be more a case of Transport & the insurance (125cc bike), lens, compressor & airbrush! That's if I am successful though, had the interview today and they make parts for turbine engines including the blades for the A380's engine!

  20. The bear should hopefully be finished at this point if all goes to plan, the Enzo has been started with a rough spray of primer... Aiming to get the car & bike kits finished before I start on the commision on the Wellington!

  21. Just taken on a commision build for someone I know, the 1/48 Trumpeter Wellington Mk.III. Lets just hope that I can build this exactly how he would like it to be built!

    1. Darby

      Darby

      Pressure's on then

  22. Seriously thinking how I should display this bear when its finished, have a base slightly bigger than the model. Do I paint the base gloss/matte black, or look at some pre-printed bases to print out

  23. Thank god for matchsticks, chopped the end of one of them and it makes an absolutely perfect tool for painting canopy lines!
