Guys many thanks for the comments , Terry a big part of my model making is the research for reference pics and I can sometimes spend hours trawling the net for them.
I use a couple of sites regularly for reference pics which are ,
1 , plain military forum ( top site 0
2 , spta military image group , on facebook
3 , http://www.flickr.com/photos/wanderinguk/sets/72157634542116421/

Well I have to say thanks to Airfix for finally taking the lead on plastic modern British Military vehicles with there Operation Herrick sets.
Its a shame they picked the very latest version of the Land Rover WMIK the "R WMIK plus " as this version of the vehicle has not seen service in OP Herrick !
It has entered service with the British Army & Royal Marines and is used with British Forces in the UK , Germany , and Canada and can be seen on exercise in these Countries .
I have made 2 versions of the R WMIK plus , the 1st one on exercise in Germany and the 2nd on exercise on Salisbury Plain in the UK.
1 , Germany.
2, UK
Hope you like them folks and welcome any feed back.
Neil.
Looking really good and the weathering looks spot on , one idea maybe a few muddy boot prints from the front of the vehicle up to the top of the hull where the crew have climbed on it .
Hi Dave.
Many thanks for the comments , the EOD Rover is correct as vehicles serving across the water in NI were all green unlike EOD vehicles on the main land which had the red front wings.
Here is a pic of the vehicle my kit is based on

Hi Sean .
Thanks for the comment mate , the Baracuda was all made from tea bags ! open the tea bag at the seams ant tip the tea leaves into a container.
With the tea bag empty cut it to fit the sections of the roof , once done soak it into PVA glue and water and then lay it over the roof sections.
Allow it to dry for a while and then re cover with PVA glue and sprinkle the tea leaves over the panels , allow it to dry fully then paint.
It doesn't come out to bad mate.

This is the E-WMIK TES LRA003 which comes with the 2 GPMG,s , the kit is very comprehensive one and does replace a lot of the Hobbyboss kit.
it goes together very nice and the fit is great and gives you a great Rover at the end. It is the R-WMIK TES that has the .50
Thanks for the comments.
I built this last year and it was a great conversion kit from AA in 1/35th to go with the Hobby Boss WMIK.
I have a collection of Rovers which I will post at a later point ( hope I don't bore you all ) all from Hobbyboss in 1/35th

Hi folks.
Im new to this site but have been building kits since I was a nipper , I mostly like to build modern british so the new kits from Kits from Airfix are most welcomed.
My 1st Snatch is a version based on a vehicle used during OP Telic (Iraq)
My 2nd is the Snatch + as used in OP Herrick (Afghanistan)
My 3rd is a Snatch belonging to 321 EOD during OP Banner (NI)
Hope you like them and I look forward to any feedback.
Neil
Just want to say that these builds look very good , you ask the question about the rear lights on the WMIK and someone has kindly posted some pics of the rear lights.
One problems the lights posted are not the ones fitted to the Airfix WMIK ! this is because this is the R WMIK + which is the very latest up armoured version which has not seen action out in Afghanistan.
at the moment this version is attached to units In the UK / Germany and BATUS ( Canada ) the only part of the vehicle that looks like the old version is the front wings bonnet and grill.
Here are a few pics that may help you with your build.
Hope these may help.
Regards Neil
