From a clean sheet of paper, looks like you’ve made a lovely looking Gannet.  😁

…….. and another thing…… you should see what comes out of @AliGauld ‘s bread bin.    😼

I have Amos, remarkable builds, and the odd Scotch roll I would suspect.

A coat of XF2 matt White laid down as an undercoat.

    Main wheels got the same.

As well as the prop tips.

First coat of X2 Gloss White.

It will need a second pass I think.

Various other bits got sprayed too.

And the prop got its tips splashed with a dab of yellow with a hairy stick.

I am leaving this to it for the rest of the day.

  6. When I first saw this kit previewed on the net over a year ago I said I want it!!!

And I was very happy with it, hats off to Airfix for this one, great kit, well thought out construction and well fitting parts too.

It took me just under three months to build and it was time enjoyed.

I would like to thank all those who followed, commented and liked on the WIP.

    Paints: Tamiya, Mr Hobby, Alcad2.

    Varnish: W&N Galeria.

    Filler: Hardly none.

Looking suitably Gannety with a full bomb bay and flaps deployed. Getting close...

With mu COD build, I've managed to make the long range fuel tanks, using the excellent drawings in the 4+ book, So that will be it for my bomb bay, unless I can find info on other stores pods that might have been carried..

    Colin

Very close Colin, very close indeed.

Not sure if you want to do this, but if you have a 72 scale Tamiya F4U-1 Birdcage or an F4U-1A, it includes the sprue for the F4U-1D differences- which includes the 13'-1" Hamilton Standard Paddle Blade Propeller.

The Tamiya F4U-1D propeller corrects the only significant shortfall of the Eduard kit, which is the dreadful propeller. Conversely, it can improve the looks of the Hasegawa TBM-3 series or a Monogram F7F Tigercat.

    It's that whole reduce-reuse-recycle thing...

    -d-

Thank you for the offer  but I have decided to use the kits one.

I am not one for total accuracy, if it goes together well enough that good for me.

    Thanks @ruudster, @javlin, @giemme. @GREG DESTEC, @Bob C., @psdavidson, @Hamden and @cobraleader.

  9. A man walked into a bar on a slow night and sat down. After a few minutes, the bartender asked him if he wanted a drink.

He replied, "No thanks. I don't drink. I tried it once, but I didn't like it."

So the bartender said, "Well, would you like a cigarette?"

But the man said, "No thanks. I don't smoke. I tried it once, but I didn't like it."

The bartender asked him if he'd like to play a game of pool, and again the man said, "No thanks. I don't like pool. I tried it once, but I didn't like it. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be here at all, but I'm waiting for my son."

The bartender said, "Your only son, I'm guessing."
