    Looking good Simon.

The MiG-25 is a beast, but you seems to tame it fine.

    Happy Easter.

    /Bosse

Thank you Bosse, she is coming into shape slowly.

I hope to crack on a bit more tomorrow.

Happy Easter to you as well.

    Thanks @cobraleader, @giemme, and @Hamden.

Alright, I've put the Me-410 in the WWII Twins BG on hold for a few weeks. There is a model show coming up in a couple weeks, and because I have been Lazy, I have almost no new models to brings! Doh!

So I decided to 'toss' one together and figured the flying wings should be pretty easy...

    The kit.

I won't be doing any major additions to this kit. The only PE I have for it are left overs from a Do335 and I'm mainly just using the PE belts. The engine covers will be glued down (good thing as some of the fitments is atrocious) and I'm leaving the guns out as the gun covers will be glues shut as well. No need to add things that won't be seen.

First thing first, I heard that the wing to fuselage fit can be a bit troublesome, so I decided to add the wings on before anything else.

With everything being pretty 'flimsy' at this point, I snipped some L-bracket stryene for extra mating surfaces.

    tbv04ry.jpg

Then offered up the wings and clamped them into place to dry.

    Uw4KxOu.jpg

And that is how six parts become two!

    jPquIkW.jpg

    bwAtGlm.jpg

Then onto what must be the most fiddly part of the whole build, the gear. Nose up first. Wanting to add the wheel after paint, I drilled out for a pin/axle.

    UITB4ai.jpg

Then looked to mounting the mud guard, and I hid a snag. Not a big one, but notable. This kit should come with a PE fret that would include some mounting arms for the mudguard.

Turns out, the first-hand owner did not pass this on to the second-hand owner... Shnots!

Time to scrounge through the 'supply depot.'

INTERMISSION - here are some engine parts. And a tire or two more.

    uZ4fhrh.jpg

    Alright, back with this.

    XQ2RR1A.jpeg

It's some kind of antenna array that I bought years ago on the off-chance I might need it for parts. Whelp! After a little snipping, I think some of that metal work should do the trick. It will be fiddly as heck though!

Before then, the nose gear with a pin-axle and the mud guard glued in place. It's mating point was real iffy so I just glued it on where it looked right.

    rQo8nzD.jpg

And finally for this update, I put the rest of the gear together, and here's where that 'fiddly' word comes into play again. I needed to use the gear bays as jigs to get all the parts in at the right angles - and to keep me from cussing while 'trying' to put it together after paint.

I will note that the first Ho229 I bought was a 1/48 Super Wings kit. I got it cheap at a hobby show, but then as I would open it up and look at all the parts, I would wonder at ALL THE PARTS! Anyone in 'the know' will know they are packed with details inside and out and I knew I would never put one together with all the inner frames and guts showing. So, after seeing the old Dragon kits, I figured they must be so much easier... You got it, I sold the Super Wings 229 and bought two of the Dragon kits! Well, after starting this one, I have now rebought the Super Wings kit and have put the second Dragon kit up for sale! Oh me!

Anyway, if all goes well, I should be into paint in a day or so, and have this ready for Bufcon on 4/7.

Hmm, I wonder if I could chance starting that Academy 1/72 F-8...

    Model on!

    Thom

A nice start Thom, a bit of reinforcement doesn`t harm, some kits are well known for flimsiness at major joins.

    I will tag along mate.

    Simon.

Great project you've chosen Simon  @Spookytooth

I built this a few years back, and I had trouble getting the air intake in the right place.
The same goes with the exhausts.
And I discovered that Revell's instructions is a bit confusing in some places and I found that keeping a copy of ICM original instructions helped somewhat.

You can find the ICM instructions here; https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/4/1/0/998410-29-instructions.pdf

Thank you sir, I have been looking at the Revell instructions and they as clear as mud concerning the air intakes and exhausts.

But these make a lot more sense.

I have downloaded them and will print the ones needed.

    Simon.

Once again a big thank you.

Seat looks spot on , Simon!

    Ciao

Yep Giorgio, they made an error on the sheet or in the destructions with the numbering.

The are also a bit thick to, especially over any raised details.

I did give them the "Micro set/sol treatment.

    True Roger, true.

Well after seeing my mum off on the train and doing some shopping I was able to set forth on the Foxbat.

Paint arrived this morning so gave bits a spray , then after lunch started to play.

    Seat done.

No seat belts sadly, they had them for sale with other P.E. for the office but you can`t see naff al once closed up.

And some decals applied, which to honest were a pain.

I still have to paint the throttle lever.

    DSCN4921

The IP one is a horror and I would suggest cutting up into the various panels in hindsight.

Also they made a boo boo with the IP that I had to sort out.

A coat of satin varnish next then leave to dry overnight.

    Keep dry.
