Hi Beefy, Missed this somehow (probably cos I'm not a fan of subs) looking good! How did you get paint to stick to silicone? Your only problem is lighting . . . the pictures look flat doing your boat no justice at all Cheers Kev

Vosper 73' MTB Type 1 (Airfix 1/72)
longshanks replied to longshanks's topic in Work in Progress - Maritime
Got up this morning and I wasn't as happy . . . so further touches The white foam has beeen picked out in pure white The aerated water from props has been picked out in paler/greener blue I've used acrylic structure gel to give more bulk to the foam and tiny wavlets over the sea. Tried it before and it acted like self levelling compound, I guess because of the heat so base and gel went in fridge ;o) Happier now until tomorrow morning lol Brian, details to follow Thanks for looking, hope its looking better Cheers Kev -

Vosper 73' MTB Type 1 (Airfix 1/72)
longshanks replied to longshanks's topic in Work in Progress - Maritime
Last night toys left pram at very high velocity Since the start of this project I had been attempting to scratch build the frames that support the torpedo tubes This is what I was trying to achieve Just some of the various attempts It was all to precise (not) and frail and last night trying to sand an almost complete frame it all bent and toys left the pram! Faced with the thought that I had to do four the same I've called it a day. So now its use the kit part and keep my sanity . . . . Thanks for looking Cheers Kev S -

Hi Martyn, Good to see you maintaining standards! We were talking about radial davits the other day . . . . I knew I had a pic somewhere Admiralty Manual of seamanship 1952 I know you like to be accurate - thought the above pic would help with super detailing, really only joking ;o) I thought the pic along with the written word would help you understand the workings Cheers Kev -

Cheers Foxy, If you don't get some pics up soon I,m going to have to come down and make sure your still working ;o) Hi Seadog, I was beginning to think something had grabbed you in the garden ;o) Good to have you on board ! I think I've got all John Lamberts books, love 'em. Glad you mentioned GLS Oerlikons, I think I'll give them a try on next project. I also want to see what their 1/72 Coastal forces guard rail set is like. Have you got any up and coming projects to wow us with? Cheers Kev
