  1. Thanks for all the comments. I'm definitely going to make another lightning in the future, it was lovely to build.
  2. Hi all, here is the brand new tool lightning from airfix. Its been built for a while but ive never had time to photograph them in natural light until today. I hope you like her.
  3. Hi all, here is my recently completed vought corsair. I apologise for the poor fitting canopy. Comments welcome
  4. Lovely job here. The phantom looks such a beauty, in any livery. I love how you've created a realistic, yet simplistic, diorama. Great work. Regards
  5. Great job on a plane that you can't have too many of. Regards
  6. Lovely build here. I love aircraft in these target markings and this is no different. It's one of these builds that I would say looks very industrial, ie, it looks very used and you can imagine it in various scenes. I always try to emulate this and you've done a great job. Regards
  7. A lovely moulded kit that you've applied a lovely finish to. The weathering is very good too. Top marks from me.
  8. You've done a great job here. I've got a friendship in my stash and yours makes me wish I'd started mine. It looks like you've achieved a very smooth finish with the aerosol so nice one. Great job. Regards
  9. Thanks. Best place to get this kit is hobbycraft as i got it for £4, remembering its a starter set with paint and glue. I did buy it months ago but as far as I know, it's still this price. You'll really enjoy it. Regards
  10. Thanks all for the comments. I'm definitely going to build more bi-planes.
  11. Oops, you're right. If I remember rightly the actual aircraft, or the majority of the airframe is a sukhoi 21 but with upgrades it is a su15. Thanks for pointing it out I'll change the thread name from mig. Regards
  12. Hi all, this has been finished for a few weeks but never got round to posting it. It was a nice kit to build and, although the details are very very minimal, it looks fairly nice and is a classic Russian jet.
  13. Hi all, long time since I posted aircraft here. This is my Fokker dvii which was finished an hour before midnight so was my last build of the year. It was a lovely kit to build and I will definitely build more biplanes. Enjoy Comments welcome. Regards
  14. Lovely catalina, they certainly look smart in this livery. Top marks
  15. Excellent build, wish I had the patience to build another lancaster. Regards
  16. This looks awesome. I had one of these years ago when I used to half build models, with the bare minimum tools, put them in my cupboard and they'd get smashed up. Needless to say mines was no different and is long gone. I was wanting another one, but then I saw the price. I will get one and when I do, I truly hope mines like yours. It's much better having the multicoloured containers as opposed to the orange ones one the box and I love the way you've added subtle spots of rust. I love this model. Top marks. Regards
  17. That looks great, I'm getting mine tommorow.
  18. No that's fine. I'll buy ink tomorrow and give it a try. I suppose if I scan the instructions for the painting then resize accordingly the camo patches, it will be easy enough to work on. If I'm successful with this method, it'll allow me to make many models with hard camoflauge so it could be very useful. Many thanks
  19. I don't have any ink for my printer but it sounds useful for hard camoflauge so perhaps I should buy some. One last question, is it easy to resize to 1:72 and how do you know exactly what to resize too.
  20. Oh well, it's good to know others do this. What type of paper do you use and how do you stick it to the plastic. Regards
  21. Hi, I've possibly made the stupid step of starting my Pucara which i want to do in the Falklands Argentina camoflauge, only problem is I'm scared to attempt it as it looks rock hard. My options would be to freehand it, create masks using masking tape and tracing it onto it via the book or just plainly giving up. What would you suggest. Many thanks
  22. Thanks for the comment chaps, I'll definitely get more photos one day but I've got other builds happening so it'll have to wait. The drydock is decent but a better scene is really required. The problems where very frustrating but at least it's built. I'd love to go to pearl harbour, which is wierd as rusty shipwrecks give me shivers, but I doubt I ever will. Regards
  23. Hi and cheers, the kit was a pleasure to build and only 2 issues hindered me. First off, the decks proved a pain to get the colours right and, after keep adding another layer of slightly different shades, it began to get blobby in places so I spent ages rubbing them down and luckily was happy(ish) with the final result. The second thing were the 2 tripod towers. They were horrible and fiddly to build. Overall though, it was a nice build, it just took ages. Regards
  24. Thanks for your comment, believe it or not, the cameras made the colours extra saturated as i have it set on a HDR mode for general use and forgot to switch it off. I agree that the hull looks too red but in the plastic its perfect. Regards
