  1. Hi all, when I am making models, practically all the time, I have my windows open but I'm wondering what your opinions of the dangers are or aren't. How dangerous are the fumes in your opinion.
  2. I personally think the weathering is great. Nice one.
  3. Hi there, it's the tomahawk iib and the messerschmit 109 trop.
  4. I've always thought the phantom was a sexy aircraft, with its two big engines. The same is true about the ground crew, although it's not the engines I'm on about. I'd have fun painting them figures. Seriously its a lovely jet.
  5. Hi everyone, excluding the three on the roof, the nimrod, the Canberra and the sea king, these are the ones that are built upto now. A little question, on the top shelf you can see the two el alamein aircraft. I had originally put them on their supplied stand but I have now binned it in the hope I can somehow de-glue the wheels and re-erect them in the down position for the shelf. Anyone know of a way to do this.
  6. Ive just got back from Torquay for a week and was hoping for modelzone news as the "so called hotel" didn't have Wifi. Sad there is nothing positive yet. I've only just, via this thread, heard of coastal models, Blackpool. Looks and sounds good, especially as I'm going to Blackpool next Friday. Was at an airshow last week and had 70.00 pound to spend on models. Was very impressed with one stall and their prices. Only thing is my stash is only 22 or 23 planes big. It's sad to see some of your stashes which are 100, 200 plus big.
  7. absolutely love these models. The aircraft look great and I envy your smooth camouflage, something I've had trouble with up to now. If all your posted models look as good as this, there will be some very jealous modellers, including me, immensely. Great work.
  8. I have this feeling that any day now, someone is going to buy all of, or if the administrators allow, some of the stores. I think that even if this doesn't happen, someone will come along with a new shop selling models, not models, Lego, RCs, Diecast etc, but models.
  9. That's good news about amerang, proves there's still interest in models.
  10. Looking forward to seeing this seaking. Should look good, must build myself a red, gray seaking.
  11. Thanks for all the advice, to be honest, with camouflage I tend to be impatient. I will take more time now. I have been painting the patches of camouflage over the main paint layer so I will try doing this differently next. The last planet I made the other day was the hunter and the camouflage is very rough. Lesson learnt. Thanks
  12. It's the colored patches of camouflage that are rough. So if it was a lancaster it would be the green camouflage patches. I think I must be using too much paint.
  13. Hi all, I'm after advice with regards to painting camouflage. Whenever I paint it, from a distance in certain lights it looks smooth but in other lights its very rough. I see lots of other camouflage builds that aren't rough. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use revell aqua colour and use firm flat brushes. Thanks
  14. Fantastic you've done the jaguar proud. It looks fantastic. The jaguar was such a beautiful aircraft but the only memories I've got of it are from Sunderland airshow probably 8 or 9 years ago of it screaming past, it's large afterburners glowing brightly. Great work.
  15. Was at Metrocentre modelzone today and it was very busy. Most of the people were looking at kits and stockpiling paint etc. Staff were happy aswell.
  16. There really may be a chance the founder can buy back some stores from what I've been reading. I know it's not very likely but you never know.
  17. Excelent models, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished lineup. By the way, awesome ship.
  18. Honestly, if I was to give this a mark out of ten, sorry but it would have to be a ZERO. Seriously its a great model and the painted rounders are great. I keep seeing the zero and must buy one.
  19. It looks like modelzone has finally announced closure. The sales should be good mind. It is a shame for the staff and you never know, another model retailer might emerge.
  20. Nice model, quick question, are you planning on making seakings in other liveries. Reason I ask is cause I'm gonna do this and I'd be curious to see someone else doing it. BTW, you've chosen one of the best liveries.
  21. Haha yes it would. The pictures on Google of this scheme look great and I thought it would be hard but it wasn't.
  22. Here are some pictures of my canberra. I will upload some shots of her top later but as you can see, there is quite a nice scheme on her. I do believe that this mk of the canberra didn't have this scheme but at the end of the day, it looks nice.
  23. Thanks, yeah I've got some pics of the nimrod but to be honest, I'm considering taking it down as there aren't many decals on the bottom which makes it look plain and the space could be better filled I think. I'll post the pics.
  24. Here is my tucano. I really enjoyed this build as it was simple but effective. As you can see on the bottom photo, the fuselage of the tucano at the front is uneven. This was an accident were the fuselage was left on the table in a pool of paint. It had melted it so i had to use filler to smooth it out. It looks alot worse on the photos mind.
