  1. Absolutely beautiful, in fact I've just looked at the other range of these liveried kits and they are smashing. Now I've got to buy myself 1, or, 2, or 5.
  2. I think that after all stores shut, if they do and there isn't a rescue, that either a new chain will be born or new independent stores will open. It would be increasingly hard with the Web being a major competitor but you never know. There is always hobbycraft as well. The thing I would find sad shopping there is that the carrier bag would say hobbycraft, people that saw me would not know what was in the bag where with modelzone, they had a good idea, certainly less options than hobbycraft. Especially when I whip the boxes out to check the sprues.
  3. Hi all, here are my recently completed spitfire and hurricane, photographed together.
  4. Hi, if you are on about the paint I used to paint it, it was revell aqua Silver metallic 90. The nose was just a pot of unnumbered red paint sitting in my tub of included paints where, sadly the numbers have worn off resulting in a lot of work if you're not after a block colour. I hope this is what you meant.
  5. Hi, it was painted with a brush. The 2nd picture certainly makes the jet look stubby. I personally don't think the mig 15 is a particularly aggressive looking plane, certainly not in the same league as sepecat jaguars and f4 phantoms. I've also just added a jaguar to my stash which I'm very happy about. Regards
  6. This is a lovely build. It looks very industrial in this livery and you can easily imagine it hovering above the bitter north sea. Great stuff.
  7. The news about doncasters model shop is great and is an example for other stores. I really hope it it successful. It would have been very easy for him to say “I've done my part, it's my time to relax, im in retirement” but no, he is devoted. Well done sir.
  8. Academy was the one brand at metrocentres store that there was still lots of. Airfix was low and the shelves were really only 1 deep with a few stray boxes behind, they were stacked on top of each other. Revell was low, hasegawa was low but academy was there in force. There were loads of figures left, soldiers and military personnel that is, and a fair amount of vehicles. Still plenty of airfix starter sets though. I caved in and bought a 1:72 BAE hawk starter kit. It should be lovely when built. Regards
  9. I was in metrocentre modelzone today and someone bought something with the 20% off voucher. The staff knew nothing about it but the man behind the till said, britmodeller so he knows where there from. The lady went and had had a phone call in the back and was there ages. I think they were okay with it after that. BTW, metrocentre low on plane kits but decent amount of paint where Newcastle has lots of kits but hardly any revell aqua left.
  10. Damn, wish I had ink in my printer, I couldn't bother you and ask for one myself could I.
  11. Hi all, was at Blackpool recently and was amazed at how many models toymaster had as well as Humbrol paint. Unfortunately there isn't one near me and I don't think Modelzone sells Humbrol pots, may be wrong, anyone know where else around newcastle, Sunderland area. Many regards. I'm looking to see if the aircraft museum does.
  12. 100% satisfaction for the viewer. Great work.
  13. Honestly, you will love it. Out of interest, what livery would you do.
  14. Thanks for your comments people, I must buy more migs as they are lovely pocket sized kits that are so pleasurable.
  15. Hi, thanks for that and yes, it is hand painted. I find the silver paint goes on very smooth.
  16. This looks fantastic and the d-day stripes really make it stand out. Nice one
  17. Yes, this is out of the box, no mods or anything. It fits together brilliantly and I used hardly any filler, except where you'd expect, wing to fuselage. I was originally going to do it in its camouflage but decided at the last minute to do this scheme.
  18. This was a great plane to build. I had to add a mig to my collection so this was massively overdue.
  19. Hi all, I found the paintjob on this bizarrely hard on the wings. Anyway, I hope you like it.
  20. Hi all, this is the airfix Dakota and all I can say is it was a pleasure to build.
  21. Was in newcastles store today and I seen lots of models I've never seen there before and all in all the kits were pretty well stocked. There seemed to be tons of italeri kits, much more than usual. I picked up an italeri uh-60 black hawk for £4.80, I couldn't believe it when I worked the reduction out and it came to this price. I suppose it's better news for Newcastle and the Metrocentre stores as they haven't yet received a closure date. Guess they are profitable, or at least selling more than the confirmed closure shops.
  22. This is a truly great build. You have really made it unique and it wouldn't look bad in any collection. Well done mate.
