Menacing looking aircraft. That tupolev is certainly frightening, especially on this side of the North Sea. The b52 looks more chilling than the real life bombers. Great stuff

Hi all, here is my recently completed gnat. Everyone was saying this kit was nice to build but I certainly didn't have a great time. It was my fault though. I had stuck the wings on wonky so I had to de-glue them and re stick. Enjoy.

Dassault-Breguet super Etendard 1:72

Thanks guys, Parabat, I missed your response until tonight, the paint was revell aqua white and, yes I had primed it. White paint to me is just horrible. -

I hope she can get sorted soon. She was truly awesome at Blackpool. Infact, the whole airshow was fantastic. It made Sunderland look rubbish.

Great work and, at times in the film, your model actually would have looked more real than the very obvious computer representations that are so evident on some scenes. BTW, I don't like the film titanic and I don't cry at the end of it, said with a very suspicious face that is easily lying and also going red.

Hurricanes certainly look lovely in this livery. It's a mix of the red spinner and the insignias and various emblems standing out so well.

Airfix Canberra PR9 1/72

Hi and welcome the forums, you will have a great time here. This model is great, I really like it. You've done a damn good job on it. I particularly like the open nose on this kit and the good paint work. It looks spot on. Well done mate. Regards -
Thanks for your comment. I must say I got carried away with the clear and made it very glossy. This makes my tucano look matt when put near it, even though that's black and glossy. Regards

Very nice, not a plane I can say I know though.

Awesome build, looks super. BTW, we're glad you've included so many pictures for a great build like this. Nice one. -
Very nice build. I can imagine it working away in the skies.

Hi all, here is my hawk. Hope you like it.

Great stuff thanks. I'll buy that paint and the actual copter, there fairly cheap kits so that's good. I had one months back before I was serious about modelling and it never got finished and got put into the bin, anyway, I will make a start when I get my supplies. Regards -

Hi, I know this is a old tread but I'm planning to do this but for the Newcastle based helicopter, what I was wondering is where did you get the equipment around the skids. Also, what yellow paint did you use. Regards -
Asoloutely gorgeous build. The decals really stand out well on the black body and,to echo everyone else, wear and tear, perfect.

Hi fellows, thanks for your comments. Navy 840, I don't mind in the slightest for your input. Right now I'm working on a bae hawk and after that I'm itching to start a new kit but I will definitely sort this inaccuracies out soon so thanks for that. I like everything I do to be as accurate as possible so I'm glad you've highlighted them. Regards -
Sidewinders removed. Should have looked into it before arming it. I'm getting a new typhoon soon though, forgot what brand but you can get them for £8 at boyes, at least the Chester le street branch so will arm appropriately. I'm going to do the new version in luftwaffe scheme so will equip the current typhoon with raf load if supplied. Regards

Awesome weathering, it really is. The plane looks neglected, which is good and looks heavily used. If this is one of your first models for x amount of years, then this time next year they will be too good. Superb.
-
They are fantastic. In my opinion it looks like you have weathered them. If you have, superb, if you haven't, again, superb. The metal looks worn and I think all models with this metal like finish should look slightly grubby as it greatly enhances them. Well done. Also, if there's one plane I must get its a lightning, but the price of the hasegawa ones is very high but I wasn't aware of the upcoming airfix kit so thanks canberra fan for that.

Hi chaps, thanks for the comments. I also didn't know what a PITT pen was but all I can say is wow. You can also use thinned oil paints to do this technique but to be honest, the pen is so much easier. I'll link the Page below and you can get them from hobbycraft. Well worth the money. If your making 1:72 models, you want the thinnest pen from the range for the panel lines and indents. You simply draw in the indent lines with the pen, or draw around hatches etc, then lightly rub over it with a cotton bud. If you use a dry bud, minimal smudges, if you use damp, there is smudges. As you can see, for weathering, it's best to use a damp bud to generate the smudges. For certain areas, we're you want weathering or over rivets etc, you can messily draw over the area as this will both highlight the area and provide weathering. I hope this helps somewhat. BTW, be sure to check my Etendard out as you can see how good this technique can be on white areas. Many thanks. Below is the link for the PITT http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/faber-castell-pitt-artists-brush-pen-black/570354-1000. .

Hi all, here is my super Etendard. I personally had a horrible time making this model. It was a combination of white paint, the decals and the canopy which really didn't fit at all. Its lucky its made at all as I nearly pushed it to one side; very very hard so to destroy it. BTW, the weathering is stronger in the flesh, or plastic.
-
I cant blame you for spraying the white on the dan air, I nearly smashed my recently finished Etendard when trying to hand paint the white, what a horrible colour to brush. Regards

Hi all, here is my typhoon. I made this model months ago and wasn't happy with it. Last week I learned about using a PITT pen to highlight the details and to weather it, and I applied it to this model, as well as some other ones, and what a difference. I also repainted the cockpit.
