  1. Not a leak, what do you think the Spitfire day at Duxford was for 😄
  2. And it certainly will crash this year 😜😁
  3. The ILS antenna on the tail (the small fins) need removed for 864 two minutes with a scalpel and file will sort them ,the extended nose gear could be extended for display and maintenance purposes but the flaps, slats etc would usually also deploy . 4. The Airfix 1/48 Buccaneer tooling is gone. Dead, deceased, snuffed it, it's an ex mould, never to reappear again.
  5. Details on the Duxford event. https://www.iwm.org.uk/events/spitfire-an-icon-in-airfix
  6. Airfix are hosting a Spitfire day at Duxford on the 8th of January.
  7. It's not Airfix, they now have their own scanning equipment and a researcher who can use it and its not him in the photo. When they scan an item it's made clear that there should be nothing published about what they are doing especially as they are usually paying for the access.
  8. Quick walkaround at the hangar on Wednesday. 20211006171714_IMG_9397 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006172234_IMG_9399 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006174736_IMG_9474 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006174748_IMG_9479 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006174502_IMG_9432 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006174806_IMG_9485 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006174801_IMG_9481 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006175716_IMG_9512 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006175721_IMG_9513 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006175725_IMG_9514 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006181400_IMG_9524 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr 20211006181545_IMG_9528 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr
  9. It helps having an AVM on site as patron of the society
  10. Delivered by JARTS (Joint Aircraft Recovery and Transport Section) from Boscombe Down on Wednesday Tornado GR.4 ZG771 with the RAF Marham centenary tail. Gifted by the MoD ,the first GR.4 to a non national collection, following an 18 month delay due to Covid it was delivered in a six vehicle convoy and reassembled in three days. 11. Looking forward to this but hopefully cranked tail, deep lower fuselage with weapons bay for FAA versions and with any luck the turbine nose for later RAF /FAA ones will be catered for. Only Corgi in diecast have provided all these options in their tooling so far.
  12. Sprues are in separate bags apart from the two wing ones.
  13. It's here and looks stunning 2021-06-30_02-38-28 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr IMG_20210630_145324 by Tony Osborne, on Flickr
  14. Mates one delivered this morning, my one is still with DPD in Birmingham hopefully being delivered tomorrow.
  15. Looking like it's in stock, my payment for my preorder has just been taken 😁
  16. Beautifully finished 007. I was in the cockpit of the real XT864 at the Ulster Aviation Society when I visited on Tuesday, it is six years ago this week since it was moved from Leuchars, the restoration is now almost complete, just the rear cockpit to be fitted out and at present the team are working on getting the arrestor hook functioning.
  17. Using the OPs logic that having someone from Airfix sit in the Lincoln cockpit at Cosford we can now expect a new Puma, Alloutte III, Wessex, Short 330, Seahawk, Scout and Canberra as those are a few of the airframes the Airfix team looked over, sat in etc when scanning and nspecting the Ulster Aviation Society Buccaneer 😂
  18. And still the wrong rear cockpit for the GR. 4.
