Late to the party, but I can't miss this one. Off to a great start, Alistair
I'm not too sure about the engine mounting frames color, but I'll have to check my references - I might remember it wrong.
As for Lifecolor paints, I mix them with IPA, water and Windex when I airbrush them. Let's say that a 15% IPA water solution is the main thinner, with which I get the consistency that I want, then I add Windex to make it flow properly - this last part varies a lot according to the specific color. Not sure this is much help, though....
