  1. Biggles, they're being shown on "Talking Pictures" channel: one every day. Some corkers so far: Thor missile base, HMS Hermes etc. etc.
  2. http://www.pprune.org/aviation-history-nostalgia/567905-malta-operation-bowery-may-9-1942-a.html Interesting thread going on over on Pprune.
  3. Blagging a ride in a Hawk at Llanbedr, flying formation on WK800 was rather special. Most exciting was in a Sea King HC4 photo-ship during the rehearsal for the Queen's Colour flypast in 1990: apparently the cab was declared Cat 4 upon its return to Portland!
  4. I mean I spent £60 on impulse, the moment I learnt of its existence, that I really couldn't afford: I have every faith that I'll get Vol. 2 as quickly from Roger as I did Vol. 1. Apologies if I wasn't clear.
  5. Missed hearing about publication of Vol. 2 - I'm now £60 the poorer..... Just had a look on Amazon - they're asking £145 for a copy of Vol. 1.
  6. For an insight into Vengeance ops, I can unhesitatingly recommend Danny42cs posts on this thread here: http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/329990-gaining-r-f-pilots-brevet-ww11-152.html
  7. Bit of a downside, that.... Copies of the Naval Review are also hard to come by in the 2nd-hand book trade.
  8. Seahawk, As our interests seem to be close, I can commend this Link to you: http://www.naval-review.org/books.asp However, only reviews post-2003 are on there
  9. If you buy it anyway, post a critique on here. My opinions are exactly the same as yours!
  10. I think the colour was a different BS spec for various periods in service - but yes, the earlier colours faded to almost white!
  11. You really, really MUST post some photographs of those! John
  12. You'll find some personal experiences of these in Johnnie Johnson's "Wing Leader", ISTR.
  13. My copy has just arrived. After a quick flick-through, I am in awe of this book! Tremendous.
  14. Thanks a bunch, Seahawk - you've just cost me 40 quid!
  15. Fast service too, Marty - ordered it on 27th, and it arrived this morning!
