  1. Nice work so far - I like watching resin conversions in progress
  2. Scratchbuilt???? In 1/72?????? Man, I'm giving up this hobby........
  3. Indeed, we could do with a 21st Century quality 1st gen Harrier in all 3 scales.....Trumpeter's forthcoming 1/32 Harriers are 2nd gen IIRC.
  4. FWIW Chris, I agree with you. As for Revell's pricing policy....it is a bit strange. They put out the reboxed Italeri Mirage 2000 for £13 (double the price of it in an Italeri box!), their recent Mig-21 F-13 was the same, when as noted, Revell 1/72 jets tend to be around £7-8. I've seen plenty of retailers re-price these kits to what Joe Punter would consider Revell's normal price, which tells me they weren't selling at the higher price.
  5. I really like that 2-tone grey finish, very smart Whats the deal with the roundels? Thats like the old pre-war roundel, yes? When did they go to that? And how old are those Mig-21s now? Have they had any modern upgrades? (seem to remember Romania upgrading various nations Fishbeds)
  6. That looks great Andy, and I reckon if you add the finishing touches you suggested, it will look superb
  7. Very smart model there
  8. Old skool Harriers.....don't see enough of 'em
  9. Very nice Mike. Armour is fun, ain't it?
  10. Go together great don't they?
  11. oooooh!! Will you be weathering the decals? They look very bright and stark compared to the OD camo.
  12. That looks real nice And I have a thing for Indian AF stuff
  13. Good job on the orange bands mate
  14. Wow, he even got the exhaust to fit without a step!!!!
  15. Very unusual (and colourful) subject. Never knew Yugoslavia operated the F-84
  16. Nice Spit. Is that the Hasegawa kit reboxed?

    Airfix Acrylic paint

Sounds to me like it needs a coat of primer (Xtracrylics are the same). Halfords primer is acrylic, so I don't forsee it going the way of the dodo (I'm jiggered if it does!)
  18. Wow, that sure is a gloss finish! Many a museum would be proud of that! Looks great so far btw.
  19. Revell has much better detail, oodles of stores and is cheaper Hasegawa nose is wrong (I'm no rivet counter, but it looks obviously too short) and is more expensive. Its a no-brainer really.
  20. I think that is what is known as "typical British understatement." Good grief.
  21. I tend to leave the wheels off, paint them and the main hull, then paint the rubber bits after that. Of course, it gets tricks for subjects like the Grant & Sherman...

    MICV80

WARNING: ACCURATE ARMOUR MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR WALLET/MARRIAGE!! Bloody good stuff, but hellishly expensive....
  23. Re: Asraams, the ones on my recent Tiffie I took from the rare-as-hens-teeth Airfix NATO weapons set (thanks to Geoff B for getting me one of them). Now that Revell have released a weapons set including a free Typhoon, shouldn't be so much of a problem
