  1. Thanks for the reply Mike - regarding the cooker extractor, I'm very wary of that. In a recent Tamiya Military Modelling there was a "build your own spray booth" article which looked simple, easy and cheap. Next month there were not one but *two* different letters from HSE inspectors having kittens over the article. It seems off the shelf components (electrical fans, electrical lights) are not the best when spraying paints with volatile solvents in/around/through them. Working in a lab myself I am well aware of the concept and importance of electrical equipment being Intrinsically Safe.
  2. I like that canopy cord tip, have to remember that one
  3. So, the time has come to convert our garage in the new house to a study - complete with my own dedicated modelling area  Included in this I have managed to convince Mrs Nev that its about time I got me an airbrush. And compressor. And extractor So guys (and gals), I'm after your opinions, both good and bad, of bits of kit you've used. Cheers. Nev.
  4. Wow, those are some truly brilliant shots
  5. *desire to build airliners growing* But not those disgusting Jamaican ones...
  6. Wow, that is a FANTASTIC piece of work
  7. OK, now I don't know if you're asking a serious question about the model or not
  8. Don't know when, but they definately will - some lucky peeps got their F.6's with the sprue gates not closed off properly resulting in a free bonus FGA.9 tailpipe As to whether it will have the bigger drop tanks, I dunno. But I would guess yes based upon their 1/32 FGA.9, and their propensity for free stores in their kits.
  9. Hey, what sqdn where you on? My old man was on 56 @ Akrotiri in the early 70s then came back to Binbrook mid 70s on 5 & 11, then went out to Saudi for a couple more years @ the end of the decade.
  10. Looks great Ian - I like the weathering. Enough to be noticable, but not "coral washed"
  11. Aye Carumba! That's like my worst nightmare!!
  12. Looks fabo Phil! Great angle on the shot too.

    Anytime, Mate!

Really looks the part Martin in that Green & Grey In reality we were actually offered F-14s in the late 70s, but it was roundabout the time that the USN was having all those flameouts with their TF30s and so we ran away screaming like a girl. That and it was ridiculously expensive. And would have endangered the whole MRCA program. Of course, don't forget their use in the first Gulf War! http://www.whatifmodelers.com/air/ndunn/f14k.htm
  14. Another fine looking Hunter - and I like the underside, you've got it just the right shade of grey IMO. It may have been aluminium, but in photos it looks quite grey.
  15. Nice work on the cockpit. Looks very lived in. BTW what's the box on the cockpit door?
  16. Very nicely done model of a rare subject in an unusual scheme
  17. Mmmmmm, Hunters..............
  18. I use Humbrol Enamel Panzer Grey (Hu32 IIRC) for my tyres. All acrylic tyre/panzer greys that I've tried have very poor brush painting qualities, but the Humbrol Enamel brush paints a treat.
  19. At least one mossie sqdn wore them as well - xxx (Jamaican) Squadron. Forget the number Gorgeous scheme innit?

    Humbrol Acrylic

I'm on the south side of the Humber, and my 2 LHS's don't have the Humbrol Acyrlics either
