  1. Slapped on a green disruptive pattern and white cross of Savoy. Paintjob is bit rough (airbrush got out of bed on wrong side that day), but that's the beauty of tanks Then I added Panzer Grey chips, 3 coats of filter (MiG Productions grey for dark yellow) and a wash with MiG Neutral wash Pastels next!
  2. There was also talk of a Cruiser tank build http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry360893
  3. Didn't Matchbox do one? Re-released by Revell? 1/76 I know, but close enough
  4. Its a good idea. Mish - for an armour build next year, I proposed a "Blitzkrieg GB" a while back. 2010 is the 70th anniversary of the invasions of Norway, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg and France (I think thats everyone). http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26429
  5. Well, I already did one http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19405
  6. Well you know how some people complain about how the intake trunking doesn't go all the way back on the Revell kit? Well this has NO intake trunking, just a big hole
  7. Blundell Ave. Wasn't too bad, except parking was a bugger on match days! I used to go to the footy quite regular, so it was just a walk round the corner. When I didn't go noise was never a problem, but the floodlights illuminating my bedroom put paid to any early nights! Ever go to the Imp? My housemates went once, were nearly dragged into a fight over a game of pool and never went again!
  8. Reminds of an incident about 12 years ago when I lived in Cleethorpes. Came home from work one Friday afternoon, making myself a cup of tea etc and there was lots of jet noise about - not unusual - but this noise went on and on and was very loud, so in the end I decided to pop into the garden to see what was going on, to find all the neighbours in their backgardens looking up at the Reds doing a display! Turns out there was some new dock being opened and the Reds were giving a display as part of the opening. Now where I lived literally backed onto the football ground (Blundell Park), and I kid you not, at one point one of the solo reds flew between the floodlights at my end whilst on a knife-edge, banking hard If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it.
  9. Wow, really nice And add me to the "never seen this before" camp.
  10. Oh, accuracy, detail, fit, price, weapons, decals - Revell wins on every account.
  11. OK, 4 large emails sent! If they're not high enough res let me know and I'll take the pics again at a higher resolution. They look OK on my PC screen when you zoom in, but I didn't take them on the highest camera res as I didn't want to crash the interweb.
  12. Another build for the 1 Week Group Build on the What If forum, where its turning into something of a tradition for me to do a JASDF build This is using the Hobbyboss kit, which I bought off Howard of Effingham at the SIG meet for a pricely £4 - and boy am I glad I didn't pay full price for this piece of junk! There is not a single reason to buy this kit over the (cheaper) Revell offering. Even ease of build - don't be fooled by the small number of parts. The fit at the wing root is atrocious with a big step, and the lower nose with the canards moulded integrally makes filling round this awkward join an absolute nightmare This will be a regular air defence squadron....although it may get some fighter meet markings
  13. This looking really nice I'm not a Panzer man at all (for ideological reasons), but I would like to have one of each. Maybe I should do a succession of knocked out Panzers being inspected by curious Tommies? Andy, are those tracks rubber band, link and length, or individual?
  14. Airbrushed the dark yellow on the tank, and started the figure - only just blocked in the colour for now, no highlights or washes so he's still a bit stark. Not sure on the colour for his webbing - green or brown leather? My meagre references are contradictory
  15. Mike, PM me your email and I'll send you some scans of some articles from some mags. Its meant to be a great kit btw.
  16. Nice work on this so far - I just finished the JASDF boxing. You get a LOT of kit in the box, so you might be a while yet (wait till you get to the 29 piece main rotor )
  17. Go wash your mind out with soap and water!
  18. I picked this up at the Nationals last year - as I pointed out to Mike, its clearly NOT Gandalf the Grey, purely for copyright reasons His nose is thinner than Ian McKellen's and the scabbard is too short for the sword to be Glamdring (so its Gandalf in his 2000 years before The Hobbit then ) but a lot of the other details match the movies, such as his staff. Boxtop Only 4 parts to this Sadly there was not just a seam, but a STEP right down one side, which with all the folds in the robe was a right royal pain to sort out There were also a few bubbles and pin-holes which I've filled, and he got a coat of primer today. I think I might try to do his robes using my airbrush - probly the best way to do all the highlights and shadow.
  19. Today the annual 1 Week Group Build started on the What If website - a fixture in the Whiffy calendar eqagerly anticipated by all. One of my entries this year is a Panzer II in Italian service, using the venerable old Tamiya kit. This may not be up to the latest 21st Century standard of the likes of Dragon, but its great whiffing fodder Only took me a few hours today to slap it together an put a coat of primer on it. Italian crew member is courtesty of Chris NARSES Edwards
  20. Beautiful model of a beautiful subject Like Mental, I commend you on getting the colours cock on.
  21. Having had to oppurtunity to see this at Coventry, I can confirm it is an absolutely first class piece of work from Dean
  22. Shoulda whiffed it Mike! Would look great in JGSDF camo
