  2. Hi all I was given this Chipmunk part built off a mate earlier in the year and over the last month or so decided to get it finished. I’ve finished it as WB549 the first British chipmunk to be displayed at farnborough in 1949 Tamiya and humbrol acrylics paints used kit decals and kits world 3D printed harnesses thanks for looking and enjoy
  3. Hi all Here is Revell’s boxing of kinetics 1:32 Hawk T.2 I started this back in may and throughly enjoyed this build despite some fit issues this was pretty much built out of the box I did obtain aftermarket resin seats but they were to wide to fit into the cockpit tub so had to go with the kit seats and photo etch belts i used Tamiya paints throughout finished this at the end of September 22
  4. Hi all Here is the kitty hawk 1:48 two seat Jaguar I brought this part built off a friend a couple of years ago (first picture) and decided to get it finished I decided early on that I wanted to finish it as a Nigerian Air Force Jaguar BN I already had Model Alliance Decals Sepcat Jaguar international sheet (48138) in my stash of decals I replaced the kit ejection seats with a resin set and the boarding ladders I purchased off eBay I used xtra colour enamel paints I’ve heard horror stories about kittyhawk kits and I totally agree this was a shocking kit with ill fitting parts and did test my patience ( probably not the best kit to build after loosing your modelling mojo) but I fought through it and got it done finished this in May 22 enjoy
  5. Hi all well well well what a couple of years I’ve had in regards to modelling after I finished the airfix 1:48 Gloster Javelin in October 2020 and the 1:200 raf Poseidon in January 21 i totally lost my modelling mojo no matter what I did I just didn’t feel it so I took 6 months away from the bench. fast forward to summer 21 and the release of the new Airfix Vulcan I knew had to have it so I purchased it straight from airfix and was determined to get myself back into it so as soon as it arrived I got stuck in. I also had on my shelf of doom the trumpeter 1:144 Vulcan so decided to get that finished at same time. I throughly enjoyed the build of the airfix Vulcan from start to finish the trumpeter Vulcan was ok. I used top notch camo masks on both kits and used Tamiya and mr hobby paints throughout. The trumpeter Vulcan I finished as XH558 using the kit decals the Airfix Vulcan I finished in the markings of XH562 using aftermarket decals from xtradecal both models were completed in February 22 Thank you and Enjoy
  6. Hi Paul The canopy was a bit of a pain using the jig. I had fit issues with it at the end of the build it wouldn’t sit snuggly on to the fuselage so I had to carefully bend the canopy sides out slightly to get a better fit. I think Airfix over thought the jig idea it would of been better to have one piece rear canopy but I suppose they did it that way due to mould restraints and got two styles of side canopy for different versions. 👍
  7. First time I’ve used 3D printed decals and I didn’t know how to apply them as there was no instructions on how to use them so anyway I went through the usual process like normal decals and when applying them to the cockpit they wouldn’t stick I ended up using PVA to stick them down.
  8. I’ve updated this post with new pictures 👍
  9. Hi all I present to you my rendition of the Airfix 1:48 Chipmunk T.10 I chose to do the camouflaged markings of WP964 serving with the Army Air Corps at AAC Middle Wallop in June 1968 I used kits-world 3-D printed decals for the instrument panels and seatbelts (KW3D1481020) not overly impressed with these would of preferred photo-etch but hay-ho Tamyia XF-52 and XF-81 acrylic paints used for the camo also added the break lines from nylon thread i throughly enjoyed this build thanks for looking and happy modelling
