I'm glad you managed to get the canopy sorted, it's a great build and the weathering looks brilliant. -

Nice job Cracking little kits, aren't they. -
I've been itching to build these since I bought them 18 months ago The box contains two beautifully moulded kits, offering several build options and decals for six aircraft. For a tiny kit it packs a lot of detail... Like the perfectly formed main gear doors! And choice of normal or Malcolm hood. The two aircraft I'm doing are... Rosey T. And Chuck Yeager's Glamourus Glen. I used one of the Sweet decal options for a Revell Micro Wings Mustang I built last year so I could use the Revell decals for this build.

Cheers The nose wheel doors are done... Lots of cunning was used Some scrap card, a miniature peg and two pairs of tweezers (not pictured) were used. The card "block" stops the doors collapsing while the peg is clipped on. One pair of tweezers held the rear of each door steady while I used the other to "pull" the card out to make the bulge. (A dab of marker pen used to mark the spot) Once I was happy, I trimmed the doors to the correct length
-
No, no... Graham II (successor to Graham) has been retired You do realise that anyone who doesn't know what we're on about, will think we're a couple of nutters now!
-
Yeah, I know about the bump, the extra long doors (and I did count the small door) are part of a cunning plan
-
I've fitted the kit undercarriage doors. Unfortunately they don't supply any main doors so I've made some from 10 thou card and I've added the air dam. Matador. GR7.

Airfix 1/72 F-51 Mustang SAAF - Completed
Speedman replied to Speedman's topic in Korean War Group Build
The fuselage has been glued, filled, sanded & rescribed. I've also glued the wings together after popping in a bit of 10 thou as a shim at each wingtip. -
Thanks guys I've been neglecting these while completing a trio of 1/144 Tomcats for another group, but now they're finished I've been able to titivate the Harriers. First up, the Matador... The kit comes with decals to represent the dorsal dispensers so I used these as a guide to make some "3D" ones. I'll still be using the decals but laying them over the top. And I've added a few Pepsi can details. On to the GR7... Ventral dispenser. More little Pepsi can bits. I also reduced and re-profiled the intakes as the kit parts are for the AV-8B. And I've filled and sanded the nasty seam top and bottom of the intakes on both kits.

Sorry for the late start but I've been waiting to see if the Sun would "de-yellow" the decals before starting. Thankfully they are now nice and white and ready to go. This will be a (mostly) OOB build. The box & sprues shot... Nice to see engraved panel lines on this one, my Lancaster and B-25 have raised lines. Engine detail is... OK. There are no engines, but I have a cunning plan! I drilled, cut & filed out the fuselage windows. And made some bulkheads so I could add some Liquid Gravity. I popped some extra weight in the front of the nacelles just to be on the safe side. Some Mr Surfacer to seal it all in. There's nothing worse that a rattly aircraft A lick of black paint... And the fuselage and wings are glued and pegged.

As promised, I took some better shots of them today. While taking them I noticed that as well as building the three stages of the F-14's life cycle, but I've managed to do the three stages of cleanliness as well. The A is fresh out of the paint shop, the B has a few weeks worth of grubbiness on it and the D is nearing the end of it's cruise. Click on a photo to see the relevant gallery.

Airfix 1/72 F-51 Mustang SAAF - Completed
Speedman replied to Speedman's topic in Korean War Group Build
Cheers. Now I've finished my triple build for the F-14 group I'll have more time for this one I've finished the cockpit... -
The stores and weapons for the B & D are now fully painted, decaled and weathered. As I only had one LANTIRN pod, I made one for the D I've also finished applying the A's decals.

Speedman replied to stevej60's topic in Less than a Tenner Group Build
Another great build! I managed to get some more Sweet Hurricanes (I've both sets now) and 4 more of the Zvezda kits so the left over Sweet decals don't go to waste. You can never have too many Hurricanes... -
