I think I might try to replace the (very thick) undercarriage doors with some plastic card. https://i.postimg.cc/mDxwp8PM/g Then it's a gloss coat before the stickers, which are wrong. Luckily, I have some spares...

You're very kind It looks alright at arms length and the bottom isn't finished .

Hawker Hurricane IIc - F171/F.188 - Novo 78104
Beard replied to Troy Smith's topic in FROG Squad II GB
Nice work on the landing lights. They're something I always mess-up or lose (so end up using Sellotape). -
Bored of painting white on my Meteor, I've started the camouflage on the 110. I can't find many photos of the aircraft, and certainly none showing the upper surfaces, so this is largely speculative.

That looks really smart. 315 squadron were based at RAF Brenzett for a while, which isn't that far from where I live so I really ought to do one of their aircraft (although it wouldn't look as nice as your one).

That's rather splendid.

That's looking good. -
First coat of Humbrol Dark Earth, thinned with white spirit and applied with a wide brush. Oddly, it hasn't gone on as well as the (notoriously difficult to brush-paint) yellow.

This one is taking it's time. Top done, now for multiple thin coats on the bottom.

Blimey, you're having a torrid time with this one. -
Still painting white... The top is nearly done, probably one more coat around the forward fuselage, then it's more coats on the bottom. Wish me luck.

I'll try the veal. I had to google that.

Actually, no pain was experienced. One coat of gloopy Humbrol Trainer Yellow, thinned with some Wilco White Spirit and applied with a flat wife brush. I have to say I'm surprised.

Looking for Recommendations for RAF Mustangs in 1:72
Beard replied to nheather's topic in Aircraft WWII
Special Hobby did Mustang I/ II but I doubt it's cheap and, looking at the one I have in the stash, that easy to assemble. Do not, under any circumstances whatsoever, buy the Model News Mustang I. It's the only kit I've ever had that's gone straight in the bin. -
I hoped they wouldn't be... I'm a brush painter.
-
It will be AX772. Dark Green and Dark on the top but I'm not sure about the bottom. I didn't have the problem you experienced. I did have trouble getting the lower wing on the fuselage though, probably because I didn't get the cockpit bit quite right. It's good enough but not Eduard quality.

My Meteor is going okay so, in a burst of enthusiasm and ignoring all the nearly finished kits littering my workdesk, I've started another kit. I've had this one in the stash for years, not entirely sure why because I don't make Axis stuff. Anyway, I'm going to avoid my no-Axis rule and make it as a Bf-110 C-5. I took a photo of the sprues... But promptly forgot to take any more photos until I'll try to take more photos as the build progresses.

I you think this build has gone quiet, it's because I'm painting it white... with a brush. It's had several thinned coats and, looking at the photo, will need a rub-down with some fine emery cloth (but don't we all).

I counted my completed Spitfires the other day, there are 85, and I've got three banana boxes worth to do.
