It's really smart. The Lightning looks a lot better in flight.

This looks interesting, to say the least, I'l be watching your progress (in a nice way). Good luck.

That's really smart. I particularly admire the framing on the nose, did you mask and airbrush?

1/72 Minicraft B-24J as a Liberator VI
Beard replied to Simon's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I've been following this since the begining and your work has left me pretty much speechless. I thought I ought to comment as I suspect I'll be completely incapable of typing with what'll be coming. -
I've always liked the Airfix Mosquito and you've made a good job of it.

Blackburn Swordfish Mk.III - Airfix 1/72
Beard replied to pivokrevnik's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
That looks really good, it doesn't look like you struggle with a paintbrush. -
I hope so... particularly one in 1/72.

I like the Wellesley (it's the forgotten ancestor of the Wellington and, for those who know their history, a clever name) so I'm happy to see some-one release one and even happier to see one in 1/72, although I would've thought Revell would have the moulds and released one but perhaps they think it wouldn't sell. I've been bidding on e***y on Matchbox ones, to no avail, so it looks like I'll either have to try my hand at a Valom kit or hope that it's release will flush out some Matchbox ones at reasonable prices (I'm extremely tight and don't like paying more than a model cost when it was first released).

I was impressed by your build, I'm impressed by the finished article. Plus, The Big Lebowski is a great film.- 61 replies

Nothing like learning from your mistakes. I generally quite like the AZ Spitfires, having nearly made a Spit VI (it got destroyed when I knocked a pot of glue over it) and actually completed a Spit V, although I haven't plucked-up the courage to make my XIVe (the same one you have) as I don't want to b***er it up when I haven't got another. Anyway, carry-on with the build and treat it as a learning process for the others. Simon (edited to correct spelling)

That doesn't put me off. I hope you haven't binned it because I'll be happy to take it off your hands.

I was hoping to see how this progressed as I have the same kit in the stash.

They both look really good. I brush paint too, I have an airbrush but can't be bothered with cleaning it and my modelling is purely recreational and I use Klear as a gloss varnish not the stuff that sells for crazy prices on eB*y but 500ml bottles that I buy from the local Asda (other supermarkets are available). I like the other stuff you've done, I'm off to buy a Revell (ex-Matchbox) Lysander.

That's incredible.

I have assembled the same kit, in the same scheme, and enjoyed it a lot; until I got to the decals, I thought they were too green so replaced them. Otherwise it's a nice little kit, despite the wing chord issue, and you've made a fine job of it.

Two 1/72 Spitfires - Airfix MkIIa and Italeri MkIX
Beard replied to PlaStix's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
They're both nice-looking but I prefer the IIa, possibly because I'm obsessed with the Airfix kit (I'm on my 10th and 11th). -
That looks really good.

Mustang Mk.IV, jaws! or RAF shark
Beard replied to Wolwe82's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I can only echo what other's have already said. It looks great and it's hard to beleive it's 1/72nd scale. -
That's fantastic. I have one of these in the stash, and that's where it's staying until I forget you one.

I followed the WIP and was very impressed by your modelling skills. The end result is brilliant.
-
That's really smart, I'd be more than happy to have that good a result.

An AH-64 flew west over Folkestone this morning (about 11 am).
