  1. Thanks mate, it my mix of Pactra Stormy Sea Blue, the lighting was pretty basic but keeping it simple makes life easier especially when you have very little space to work with. Thanks for looking. Danny
  2. Hi all, a quick project for me, it took 10 days from start to finish including the bespoke lighting rig. Thanks for looking. Danny.
  3. No worries, from what I can see the Harvest Hawk has none in the tail, armpits, pylons or nose, I suspect it this may be very different when it is on deployment, I think I will scribe in the areas but leave them blanked. There is no real right or wrong I just have not got any examples when it is in theatre, still plenty of time, I can always add the Attack Squadron 1/48 AN/ALE-39 dispensers later. Danny
  4. Yeah I know that, my point was I need to find some images of a Harvest Hawk with or without them, no point replicating something that was not used, the fairings on the underside of the cockpit are quite pronounced but covers look in place, I am not going to re scribe cut and fit dispensers if they are not used but in the same breath considering the various deployments its had its difficult to imagine some of them were not used. I have loads of images to work through yet so I will no doubt get the result I want.
  5. Yep, i have been doing some research on the ALE-39 Dispensers, attack squadron even make a 1/48 resin set so no problems there, the fuel tank pylon dispensers on the Harvest Hawk seem to be blanked off but i have a drawing showing the other positions so i need to check if they are in use on this bird and then replicate. Thanks for the assist. Danny
  6. No not glued together yet, i will have a look at some images and see what i find, i just do not want to leave an open void so some detail is required, good tip though. If all else fails i will just put in the intake covers, i will check Steel Beech or just make some, maybe the best solution. Thanks for looking. danny
  7. Darren, i have a horizontal disk sander, once the table was set at 90 degrees i carefully removed the first 1.5mm ish then the rest was done with some abrasive paper fixed to a flat bit of wood, the wood is flat and you can just push across the surface in one motion slowly bringing down the material, i also used a 12" rule to maintain the relationship to the outboard engine, you have to make sure that they are both square to each other or you will be a in a pickle, basically i used the rule a straight edge held across the front of the two engines mounts. Dont try going into the wing on the inboard engine as it will never work, with the 2.5mm gone the face on the inboard and outboard line up perfectly, this means that the engines will be parallel too. Thank for looking. Danny
  8. Thanks guys, looking forward to getting stuck in😁 Danny
  9. Excellent info, thanks, as far as I can see they have been maintained in this position on the Hawk. I will add to my list. Thanks Danny
  10. Yes, I am quite looking forward to it, although the same cant be said for the re scribing😁
  11. Thanks gents, just about to start another one for a customer Danny
  12. Pretty quick build and one for my own collection for a change, just over two weeks work from start to finish, if i ever come get another one i think i might do a NMF version. Overall a nice kit to build, the only thing that lets it down are the deep old panel lines, but having done a few Anigrand kits that is par for the course. The landing gear i thought was going to be an issue but it is quite steady even with all the weight of the resin. After getting the base coat on i just added some random panel variations to break up the surface. The real thing if we can call it that is quite glossy and patchy but its kind of dificult to get to fussy with this sort of thing as its not real so you dont really have a lot to work with, i suppose that is also a good side to sci fi work, no real right or wrong. Last thing to do was decal and assemble, job done, yes the air brakes are up. Thanks for looking. Regards.Danny.
  13. Thanks mate, would not want to break the rules😁 I will do it later today.
  14. Basecoat is tamiya tyre black overcoated in tamiya semi gloss clear. Wing leading edges and upper intakes are tamiya matt black. Panel tone variations are tamiya nato black, tamiya Germany grey and individual gloss panels are a coat of Future. You dont have to pay that much, just keep a search on EBay. Thanks for looking. Danny

  16. Thanks guys, a really well thought out kit, usual Anigrand heavy panel lines but its sci fi so I wont get to lost with that, landing gear looks a bit weak but we will see. Thanks for looking. Danny www.modelmasteruk.com
  17. I have been working on this on and off since the New Year, it is the 1/48 Anigrand MiG-31 Firefox, Not the first resin Anigrand kit i have made and they have always impressed with the quality of fit and the Firefox is no exception. This is actually a model for me and not a commission so keeping to my New Years Resolution. Very little if any flash, parts already for assembly. cockpit and intake internals painted and the fueslage assembled. The only real issue i has was the odd air pocket, not many but most resolved easily enough, this one not so much, i ended up drilling it out and inserting a piece of sprue, a little sanding and all good. Another minor mode was the Oleo Scissors, they has been cast with one half of the leg mounting to the surface of the damper shaft as per the image below. Even though this is sci fi it would not be quite right so I just cut the oleo off and moved it up a bit. Fuselage assembled and nearly ready for paint, just got to glue the wings on. The join of the wing was very good but i just needed a drop of CA on the leading edge, once dried it can be sanded back leaving a seamless leading edge. Next up a coat of Tamiya Tyre black sealed with Tamiya Semi Gloss Lacquer, when you look at the bird in the film it is quite glossy. Next up will be some panel tone variation and the painting of the gear bays, there are also some specific painting details for the nose, leading wing edges and tails. Hopefully should get a lot done this weekend and be done at some point next week. Thanks for looking. 18. Well this is the last job or the year, a nice little project too considering its quite an old kit, in some ways it is better that the smaller Tamiya kit. Project took 10 days to complete, the only real struggle were the decals as they took a lot of Microsol/set to get anywhere near right. The tyres have a few moulding flaws but i do need to remove a bit of flash though. Thanks for looking. Regards Danny
  19. Thanks gents, a week ir so off but some Star Wars next I think. Thanks for looking. Danny
