  1. Funny you should ask this as I was looking for something simular for my BoB diorama. Maybe not RAF personnel, but it's British and here they have some nice figures. I suppose planes need guarding... But only 1 standing if recall correctly. The rest are all in seated or (f)lying positions.
  2. Yes, but it just seems strange to buy at the source and be more expensive...
  3. I think they sold out most of the overtrees since the fire but are getting back in stock. Aren't Overtrees only released occasionally anyway ? Shipping to Holland is roughly 15 Euro, At least for the items I choose. Funny thing, Eduard is more expensive than the shops. The Spitfire Profipack Mk I is 32 euro, while in the shops its 26 euro. Go figure...
  4. Thanks for the thoughts guys. I just went over to Eduard and loaded my cart with 4 Overtrees Spitfires with PE seatbelts and stencil sheets which was more expensive than 4 Weekend kits with PE seatbelts. Including shipping. So I think that answers the question whether or not its cheaper...at least for me.
  5. Just looking for a cheaper way to get more Spitfires.
  6. Hi there, I'm thinking of getting some Spitfire overtrees and some PE seatbelt sets to go with them. I have some decals, but no stencils. Has anyone had any experience with overtrees and what did you think ? Thank for any info.
  7. Thank you for the links. I didn't know some of them so nice to add them to the list. David
  8. Hi everybody. I"ve just started tamiya's 1/48 11cv. I don"t use tamiya colours. Does anyone know what the interior colour should be?? I'm building the french option. What is the exterior green colour?? Thx for any info David
  9. Hi all, I'm currently building a 1/72 Airfix Blemheim and would like to use ´╗┐the kit decals for Sqn Leader Scarf's machine of 62 Sqn, RAF station, Butterworth, Dec. 1941. According to Airfix 62 Squadron has code FX, but isn't 62 squadron PT ?? Thanks for any info. David.
  10. Well, last week I got an email from Hannants saying they would order a clear sprue. While I was waiting for an email to say it had arrived and what the cost would be, the postman deliverd a small box, with.....a clear sprue, with no charge. Wow, talk about service. You don't see that very often these days. So Canberra Kid, I don't need to take you up on your offer, but thank you for offering. David.
  11. Thanks for your replies everyone. I've sent an email to Hannants, I'm waiting for a reply. Hi Canberra kid, thank you for your offer, if I'm not succesful with Hannants, I will take you up on your offer. I can probably scrounge up most of the clear parst, it's the fuselage insert which I would need. David.
  12. Hi all. I just started my xtrakit Canberra and there is no clear sprue. Where can I order one ?? Thanks for any info. David. PS: hope this is the right place for this question.
  13. Hi there, I've just started the ancient Airfix 1/72 Junkers 52 (kit A05008 2011 issue) and have a few questions. BTW I'm doing the one with the floats..... The cowlings have, as far as I can tell, the incorrect profile and no exhausts. Does anyone have some plans (or photos) showing the correct profile and location of the exhausts ? The floats had severe mold flaws to them. I've lost most of the detail that was there because of the filling and sanding. Same question here, does anyone have some plans (or photos) of the floats ?? For the floats I found this, but I would have loved a bit more detail. http://luftwaffereviews.blogspot.nl/2013_06_01_archive.html Hope you can help with a bit more info. Thanks, David
  14. Sorry for the thread hike, but I'm doing the same thing for my 1/72 P-51C and was wondering how wide should the fuselage band be ?? David.
  15. Hi there, I'm putting the finishing touches on my Airfix C-47 and have a decal question. According to the instructions decal 27 (a circle) should go on the fuselage windows. But what is it suppose to represent ?? http://s1097.photobucket.com/user/ATFPictureGallery/media/Airfix%20Instructions/72nd%20Aircraft%20Instructions/Douglas%20C47%20Skytrain%20A08014/Scan_Doc0042.jpg.html Thanks for any info. David.
  16. Thanks for the help so far. Another question though. I have a spare (if there is such a thing) 1/48 Revell PBY-5a. To convert to a PBY-5, is it just removing the landing gear and filling the gaps ??
  17. Thanks for that. Looks pretty good to me. Irritating how some seem lines do not take a hint and make like a tree. Like the top, a good spray job.
  18. Excellent build and finish !! Like the slightly feathered camo. Do you have any pics of the underside ?? I'm building (started) a Mk I and Mk IV. Hope they come out half as nice as yours has. David.
  19. Hi there, in a month or two it will be 75 years of the sinking of HMS Hood and the Bismarck. I thought it would be cool to do a model of the Catalina which found the Bismarck in May 1941. As far as I know it was an RAF Coastal Command Catalina PBY-5 (AH545 WQ-Z of 209 Squadron) which located the German battleship Bismarck on 26 May 1941. This one ?? http://www.aviationbanter.com/attachment.php?s=2b0d55bf53ce4df8ce4ebff23b2a9d1f&attachmentid=65568&d=1377520504 Are there any kits in 1/48 or 1/72 ?? Were there any modifications made to a RAF Coastal Command PBY ?? Thanks for any info. David.
  20. Hi there, I'm going to finish my Academy's P-51 III in Medium Sea Gray (BS637), Ocean Gray (BS638) and Dark Green (BS641). This is according to the instructions. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10113137t4/60/4/1 WEM has two RAF Dark Greens, a BS241 and a BS641. What is the difference ?? And which one is appropiate for the intended finish ?? Thanks for any help. David
  21. These are all brush painted ?? I wasn't until I actually read your discription that I realised it was brush painted. Like the choice markings too.
  22. Goodday all, I've just started two (new tool) Airfix Blenheims, the Mk.I and Mk.IV. But before I get to far, does anyone have tips or tricks for building these kits ?? So far I've noticed a few errors in the instructions, and some parts are warped. Apparently the clear parts are tricky to fit as well. I have an Eduard zoom set which I'll be using. I'm as of yet still un-decided whether to alter the engine nacelles. Chopping that beautiful plastic.....I dunno..... Any info would be great. David.
  23. Great build and excellent paint job. Like what you did with the black. Also great to have someone else from Arnhem as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhYYn289W1E David.
  24. When I've tried to decant Halfords, it comes out rather thick and dries/hardens very quickly. I've tried it with a few cans, but always the same thing happens. Strange thing is though, when I spray directly from the can, no problem. I use Halfords red for spraying ship hulls and that works just fine.
