But this is good, no ? When "public opinion" found a errors before is model relased, a producer can fix it - and final product is probably better. Last time was this way used in Zokuei-Mura He-219 and bad shaped canopy was remolded... This is for producer and for customer good... Pity that i haven't Sword Hurricane for compare with Airfix. I found Hasegawa (relative expensive) Mk. I "metal Wing". When i compared new Airfix kit with drawings in czech edition of Hurricane Aces 1939-1940 (original: Tony Holmes, Osprey 1998) is here a problem - Airfix N.T. Mk I. is too long-however 95% details on model is OK ! I don't know - was is false ? Kit of drawings ? And it is a only one drawing... But - overall shapes of fuselage looks good ! Can you compared with another drawings ?
-
And yes, i'm a bit "strange. I'm not too skilled M.M., i'm a "weekend" or "causal" modeler and when i must characterized me - i'm in first place a collector or "model geek" . But i like our hobby. When you mean i'm a "bad guy" you can ignore me. If i offened anyone- i say "Sorry". When i build Hurricane i can give in "on work" a few pictures.
-
I'm not troll I'm can only found where is true. I'm don't believe this new Hurricane is horrible parody... as i read on czech model forum...
-
Sincelery, with this pre-and after shading (riveting etc...) you have right. I'm very surprised with correctly and very ethic discussion on BM. I think for modelers in BM is scale modeling a hobby. Only hobby ! In czech when was released any kit - quickly is here a "too discussion" (mean flame war) what is bad... Often very very vulgar... You must go with stream - or you are looser I was really very surprised when i read a Sword is better and Airfix is bad (i don't know why - where is achilles hell.) But all aircrafts have typical shapes and for example - look on Bf 109E or Hurricane Mk. IIC from Academy, Bf 109F/G & Mustang I from Italeri or Bf 109G from Airfix, MiG-21 from Academy etc...- this must bash you into eyes - something is wrong ! I can't understand why we must wait for f.e. correct 1/48 Spitfire Mk. IX a twenty years ! Why Hasegawa can't made correct "nine" and Eduard yes... (Where is eduard in 1995, and where is today...) And Compare MiG-21MF from HobbyBoss (Trumpeter), Academy and Eduard - it is kit of the same type and subversion - but every look different ! Eduard is best and Academy and Chinese kit are parody on Fishbed ! When i first saw a photos of Tamiya Mk. IX - i must say: "Oh beloved God, this is truly "nine" !!!! Looks as actual Spitfire on photos from famous czech WW II photographer Ladislav Sitenský... It is here a "pointed", long nosed look - do you remember Mk. IX from Occidental (Now re-box by Italeri and in past by MpM ?) This have wrong nose part and look too bulbous and fat- it isn't a Spitfire Mk. IX ! This i mean when i wrote -Kit must looks as actual aircraft.

In weekend edition are released early "E"(E-1,E-3,E-4) E-7 "Trop"not yet...
-
I look on Eduard and Airfix web - and i think - Eduard is better. Airfix "Emil" was labeled E-1/E-4/-E-7. But E-1 is MG armored "Emil" and E3/E-7 have 20mm canons in wing. I think a Eduard better - every version have new tool parts for it's sub variant... Eduard have too more decals options and P.E.. I read a opinion he is bit over scaled, but i don't know it is true. But when i can choose between Eduard and Airfix i choose Eduard.
-
In small scale from mainstream- this is truth - is a little problem. Tamiya made excellent Zero-Sen series and gorgeous late production Sturmovik - but both are very expensive. HobbyBoss "sweeties" are in last time not good.Zvezda released nice Bf 109F and FW-190A-4. Eduard released in last year a Bf 110C/D/E/F/G series only (In weekend re-box for good price.)Hasegawa or Italeri didn't released any new tool "dogfighter" from WW II period in last year. I personally like a Airfix new tool kits. Price is very good, and have nice decal sheet from Cartograf. IMHO Typhoon Ib, Gladiator are very nice.(Mustang, Emil and FW-190A have a little problem with mould-flawless details) I found a pair of finished Mk. I Hurricane and i think -it's look as Hurricane. For me is important a shape accuracy (don't forget - is 21.century), sharp details and nice decals and no problem build.
-
Right, in this case - when i good understand - is ditheral on kit OK ? This isn't error ?
-
Do you know - i read this on CZECH model forum. And CZECH modelers are a BIG purist. I'm a weekend modeler, not so skilled, without competition ambitions. Yes, it is a problem with fat trailing edge and bit fitting (outlined upper part) . But when i can compare fix Hurri with Hasegawa overprized metal wing kit - Airfix look as best deal. Hurri is little cursed type - Academy or Airfix Mk. IIC ("Old Kut" machine) are very ugly... I like Revell for Mk. II. I'm very surprise with this strict resultate on new Airfix - Bad kit, with many errors. Or "Have dihedral as Lancaster - and this is wrong.... I have a one rule - when you build it - a complete model must looks on first look as actual aircraft. Big innacuracy hit you on the eyes in pair second... And Hurricane have a typical hunchbacked look.
-
When i saw first photos i was happy ! Looks gorgeous ! When coming in Czech, i bought two. But - i read a opinion: "It is a crap! Hurricane is british legend, national treasure, this is newest kit from british national company and have too many lapses and errors ! But is cheap and - you - as "airfix sheeps" say - goooogeous Hurri - and in really it is a crap and parody to Hurricane. I don't know where is true... In my eyes looks newest airfix kit relative good, with nice rendition of cockpit and fabric... New hurricane may have a bad wing - with dihedral on upper part of wing - but on actual aircraft may be straight. Trailing edge was too fat. I think - a metal prop looks "suspiciously". Upper and down part of wing don't fit ideal - it's bit outlined.... I'm not Hurri expert, but in my eyes still looks as relative ideal rendition of this famous fighter. What is your personal opinion ? It is a really best Hurri in small scale, or epic fail ? Can anybody here make a comparison with drawings ? I'm very surprised i can't found any complete Hurri My is still in construction phase.... And i don't know where is truth...
-
Wohhoo ! Two blade prop was used in R.A.F. Hurricanes before first months of WW 2 ? I was think all Hurricanes in RAF service in WW 2 have metal three bladed prop...
-
Jumo engined "109" is Avia S-199 (fighter bomber) and CS-199 (training aircraft) nicknamed Mezek (Mule) in Czech and Sakhin (knife) in hebrew... This legendary "Defender of Israel" is on list...

And many decals options are very attractive !

1/72 - Hawker Hurricane Mk.1 (new variant) by Airfix- released
AlCZ replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I don'understand this. On boxart is probably fabric wing hurricane, but in box - metal wing hurricane... Fabric wing is minor version. It is boxart only. We must wait for relase of this kit... But i beg to metal wing... -
1/72 - Hawker Hurricane Mk.1 (new variant) by Airfix- released
AlCZ replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Maybe it is a temporary boxart. Description says this: The original fabric-covered winged Hurricane MkI was upgraded with a de Havilland or Rotol constant speed metal propeller, metal-covered wings, armour and other improvements. In 1939, the RAF had taken on about 500 of this later design. I think this is a kit of Hurricane Mk. I late with metal covered wings.... Why would airfix write about metal covered wing in the description of fabric wing Hurri ? Final verdict - boxart is wrong, this isn't of hight probability fabric wing Hurricane but new tool metal wing hurricane. Metal wing is most popular version and Airfix isn't stupid - he can't ignore this main version of famous BoB dogfighter ! And need successor of his old M.W.C. Hurricane Mk. I.... -
1/32 revell Bf109 G6 Hartmann backup a/c
AlCZ replied to Live_bait's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Wohoo ! Nice Karaya 1 ! -
I probably wait for czech after market production. (It's cheap here...) Maybe i bought only beulen and exhausts... I'm a weekend modeler and prefer accurate shapes beyond details... When i look at LSP this "Me 109" is very good in price/quality...
-
Have you Academy Butcherbird with all AM P.E., decals etc. ? Build it ! You can use it as "experimental quinea pig" eee- for riveting ? I'm build in my life many FW-190 (my favorite kit is Revell)and when i have in my showcase side by side Revell and Airfix (N.T.) -i can say which is best. And IMHO in small scale as 1/72 it is irrelevant. Small, cheap kit... Throw it into ecological waste ? Why ? Build your korean Wurger and when you need another, build Airfix or Revell. Both are to 10GBP no ?
-
This is a what if, no ? In this case you can use a random squadron code... And next year may be relased a metal wing from "Fix". Or look for "Hawa"MK. I or Revell Mk.IIb and putty four additional guns, typical for this version..
-
It's Revell newest Bf 109G-6 accurate in shapes ? I know, "beule" (bulges) are little innacurate, but overall is Revell Messerschmitt good ?
-
If you dream have a Messerchmitt Bf 109 series you can choose a 1/32. In last years we have all mains version of this famous fighter from new moulds -and prices are relative good. Bf 109E= Eduard or CyberHobby (Dragon). CyberHobby is in my eyes better. Bf 109F = Hasegawa made "Fridrich" in last year. Bf 109G = Revell relased this summer a complete new, versatile and cheap kit with parts for early & later G-6 (but with alternative parts you can build a G-14 too. ) In 2014 may be relased a Bf 109G-10 "Erla" - one of last version of Bf 109. Bf 109K - Hasegawa - before few years too reboxed by Revell. "Me 109" is relative small airplane, naturally in 1/32 too...
-
Yeah, cockpit is very detailed (breech of canon, trim whell) and it is overall a very nice kit. Shapes looks good. I hope in F-4 and G-6 in next year.
-
Very nice ! But...this is what if or real scheme used in camel ? I newer seen it...
-
This is old (initial) relase of Rafale M from 1999. GBU & bomb racks have new re-tool relase from 2012. This first relase haven't a chaff magazines beyond on the sides beyond nozzles. But - nice Rafale !
-
When you can a early "Fridrich" buy Zvezda. It is a really click n'clack kit (you cant it glue !) but it is very nice (and yes, when you can, you can use glue ) IMHO nicest "round" Bf 109 in 1/72...Only little fail is supercharger intake - you must drill it.
